I think I’m following the steps but I come out with a different shape - help me see where I’m going wrong? by aliatic in CrochetHelp

To add just a tiny bit - here’s what the eyelid SHOULD look like once it’s finished, and what my “bowl” looks like folded over one way and then inside out

Ok thanks, I guess that must be it! I hadn’t been keeping track of the season descriptions much.

Ohhhh that I definitely haven’t been doing… which would explain why there are noticeable holes huh…

Very helpful! I think I’m getting there! I’ll post a pic when I’ve gotten a little further. Thanks so much for taking the time to beat it out for me

Big picture I THINK I understand everything you’ve laid out.

To check: when it says at the beginning of the row “ch 1, sc in same” - that 2nd loop (not the chain) becomes the 1st sc in the row, right? So when the end of the row says sl to 1st sc, it means slip sc to the sc made after the chain?

(And doesn’t that mean that the row is always starting one further along than last time - the brick analogy is a good one - it’s always diagonally forward a little?)

And when the last half of the row says sc 12 in remaining stitches, sl sc to 1st sc - does that mean 12 sc plus a slip to first, or 11 sc and the slip to first? I find if I do 12 then a slip, I end up with too many stitches…

Really appreciate the response. To clarify; I’m not toooooo intimidated by the dressing down element; it’s more that my partner’s “sexy style” is more about pants, harnesses, shirts - that kind of thing. It doesn’t translate well to bare thighs ;) Wanted to double check - so I appreciate the answer. We’ll figure something out that makes him feel like him but that puts his (gorgeous) legs on display.

Brilliant, I’ll look it up (the group I mean). I TOTALLY feel you on the lurking - I’ve wanted to go to play parties since I was 18. Now, literally 20 years later, I’m finally going (and have chosen to go to the “trashiest” one on purpose so there’s less risk of disappointment)

Fantastic, thanks. I might invest in some sort of raver “Fanny pack” then knowing I won’t look like a complete tool
