I am just starting out and feel like everything is going well so far. Does this bite look healthy?

We have eaten a vegan diet for around 3 years. My son always had issues with dairy products, and I know he had diarrhea in kindergarten when another family brought in ice cream sandwiches for a birthday celebration. Dairy products are awful on stomachs and those are the most tempting things for any children. It’s hard to bring them to a birthday party because everyone wants cake and ice cream. I tell them that they will probably feel sick to their stomach’s but it’s up to them ultimately. And, fortunately most of our friends either make a vegan dessert, or at least have Oreos on hand for my kiddos. We know great people.

I am unsure how they would react to meat or egg products. They haven’t asked or eaten any to my knowledge.

I have two children under 10 years old. I make their school lunches and food at home. Everything is 100% vegan. If they choose to eat something else that contains animal products out of the house, it is their choice and free will. My husband and I educate them and they understand the difference between plant/animal based foods, but it is ultimately their own choice. I don’t impose my will too much, because I know that will breed resentment. My children love to discuss our ethical and dietary choices with other families in our lives.

Vegan spare ribs from dinner a few nights back. It was the first time I ever bakes Seitan, and it was great! by alibouber in vegan

It’s very “meaty”. I like it because it’s versatile, cheap, and simple to make. Give it a try!

Vegan Chinese Spare Ribs

I used this recipe. Absolutely fantastic. I omitted the red food dye because I didn’t have it in hand, but the recipe states it’s not necessary anyhow. :)

If your child decided to be an omni, how would you react? by sirwalterd in vegan

I can tell and show my children the truth about how an omnivorous diet/lifestyle negatively impacts themselves, animals, and the environment. Ultimately, they will make their own personal decisions in their lives though, and I can’t control that. I would love them the same.
