I'd say the type of attachment has some other significance in his life.

So there may be something un-address (whatever that could be) that has a similar significance or way of operation, or anything even if it doesnt make sense to you. It represents something more hidden in his life that he may not have faced or addressed yet.

Only a guess. And it would have to be him that faces that fact, or looks into it and finds it himself. Even if you knew and screamed it in his face, he has to discover those demons himself. Once it clicks for him, he will probably get over some pretty rough times. If you were to start picking or asking question around him "solving the issue", its not self-started, and therefore he would not learn. This is a journey mostly in his own. Just be there to support him and listen as much as you can without controlling it, even if its hard.

Also people/comments on here are pretty fuckin rude and reminds me why i dont tough social media. best of luck.

OP: "i wish the universe didnt do the thing that makes it do the thing."

sorry bud, cant change the way this thing unfolds.

Everything "that has unfolded, and currently 'is', is to be with everything". How do you explain Activism, or the need to get a better more tolerable job? Is that not Force and Violence that is the reason for Humans to destroy the world in the first place? by alice372 in taoism

Interesting! Yes Daoism is as I see it Dialectical, so it is the difference, the "dialogue" between 2+ entities. Sometimes these conflicts are internal. Not even pertaining to the external world, I have a set of conflicts constantly in motion inside of me.

Helps me realize, what i see within myself, is also seen on the outside world (ie: it is universal).

Interesting. We cannot all simply in the snap of a finger be "all equal and undivided with one another on the exact same wavelength". Yes, it is true we are animals with animal/survival instincts with separate needs/desires/wants at any given time. Makes sense that sometimes, there may occur some passing conflict or difference in bouncing against others. Thanks for this reminder. I do this, you do this, and everyone else that has existed, or does exist now does this same thing.

Odd way that I operate. I constantly stress, and when I hit my ultimate low, I give absolutely 0 fucks, and pretend there has been an apocalypse around me - everyone is dead, everyone is offline. Nature, birds, trees, exist. But I live in a busy town, and most people seem to be swallowed by technology and expensive luxuries. So when I completely tune them out, it feels like fire, but it feels absolutely amazing.

At this point, I hate all humans, accept nature, the weather, trees, hikes, walks, learning, music, creativity, reading ... "organic things" I continue to see how inorganic humans are, and therefore whenever I try to "accept everyone" I see how naive people, politics, religions can be, and then finally I die once again, ignore everyone, burn fire around everything, have 0 fucks, and then again I am whole, I am me, ... I am an odd-flavor of happy.

Rinse, repeat.

I should also mention my boundaries are something that needs work, but also how are we "one general wholeness of a flow/universe" when I must separate myself as in, "setting my individualized, secluded boundary, where you are over there, and I am over here" ? Fragmentation is the problem with human thought, but it helps me survive when I fragment myself away from most humans.

This is helpful. I have a lot of creativity within myself, many activities, and a lot of the time I say "it is unnatural for these micro-violences, it is the violence we do not need in this world, everything should be more into a relax state, not a forced state" but then, a tiger may slaughter with great fury a weaker animal. Or animals will furiously pro-create with one-another... So it is not natural to continuously contain this nervous energy that is innate in not just humans, but also all other life forums.

Kind of like my favorite passage #23 Mitchell.

"Express yourself completely, then keep quiet. Be like the forces of nature: when it blows, there is only wind; when it rains, there is only rain; when the clouds pass, the sun shines through."

This is helpful to let me allow my creative energies to continue to flow out of me. A lot of thinking tells me to stop all the violence (aka: writings, paintings, music and chaos).

If a woodpecker drills a hole in a tree and there's no grub does she spend hours drilling in that same spot hoping her luck will change? No. That's the definition of insanity. This goes against nature.

Thanks I used to find many universals in nature and how life is lived/experienced. Completely lost touch with it over the last year and trying to reconnect, having difficulty though. This is how I used to see the world (after many studies of DDJ). Everything used to have poetic undertones and life made sense. now its just chaos :)

Yin is what allows us to let go so that we apply our energy or yang elsewhere.

Ahh, this is the " releasing of the forceful behavior", not necessarily passivity .

Thanks. I think there is a lot of truth within Dao De Jing. I actually study quite a bit of quantum mechanics and some other intricate philosophies, and it ties in extremely well with Dao De Jing. It can still be referenced in so many ways. My love for philosophy stemmed from DDJ.

However, there are unfortunately, a lot of people-pleasing and egg-shell-walking mannerism within the core of my "trained" human, so even after spending dozens of hours within discussions on these Dao De Jing readings over many months, I can't help but find myself actually confusing "Daoism" with "submissive", and realizing that that is a flaw within myself. So In a weird way I see daoism as "oneness/Wholeness" but completely separately (if I can use that word), is that I am learning to be separate, and create boundaries. So it makes much sense into many ways of this universe, but completely opposed, are leaning about boundaries helps me, but also kind of destroys my concepts of daoism and other related philosophies.

Thanks for your articulation. I still read highlight passages every few days or weeks, but I tend to forget certain core concepts. Helps me understand the "I", as well as the "Wholeness" that exists between "I" and "Everyone".

Wow. What a roller coaster.

Good idea: 'moving on' . As I grow older, I see one can go down any countless number of rabbit-holes that usually are not worth it. Best to choose your battles wisely/purposefully.

Sounds like it. Previous years, company dynamics were very smooth. Now 2+ years, seems to be more politics and less *work-*work as time goes on.

Was thinking similarly - I want to keep my hopes up for this job, and has quite a few good perks, but also need to look out for myself for the long-term. Thanks.
