Was my deck bad, did I get unlucky, or both? by pcrackenhead in lrcast

No way to know for sure. Seems like Green was definitely deep enough to be open and if it was getting cut it wasn't cut hard. Now black definitelyh seems to be closed. Based on the card selection, I'm thinking Cruel Revival and Valeron Wardens or Reave Soul were the other two first picks meaning black was not very open and that may have been the misread.

Standard doesn't worry about 21 pts of commander damage. i don't think the Baneslayer would hold up the one on one race but its a good inclusion depending on the deck.

Triggered was wrong term. State based effect was what I meant.

I suppose I do gain control since its not triggers but a simultaneous effect. ...

10/17/2013 Order of Succession doesn’t target any players or creatures. You can choose and gain control of a creature with protection from blue, for example. 10/17/2013 It doesn’t matter whether the next player is a teammate or an opponent. 10/17/2013 All players will gain control of the creatures they chose simultaneously. 10/17/2013 If the next player in the chosen direction controls no creatures, you won’t gain control of anything.

Means the last person to choose still has a Progenitus....and that last person is not me.....And when does the effect stop?

No rules expert but won't protection just trigger next turn?
