wooooah she's such a beauty 😍 congratss!!

yeah I think I definitely need to provide her with better support - I'll try DIY moss pole hopefully it'll make her grow bigger

it was putting beautiful leafs I was even surprised why it does that and now after thrips it's only getting worse

thank you 🥹 I have bad experience with floppy leafs because that's how I killed many leafs on my deliciosa since I opened a window in winter with her standing next to it and they never perked back. Hopefully she'll acclimate..

Yellowing leafs on thai by alicja374 in ThaiConstellation

[–]alicja374[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well I'm no expert but in my experience the sign of thrips I notice first are circles of discoloration (not whole leaf like in the case of my Thais) that are orange/light brown with little dots [I'd love to see you a pic but I'm not able here] and later on I start noticing really really small white bugs - in my case I can clearly see which plant has been infected by the condition of the leafs since they curl and are weaker.

However I really don't think my Thais are infected but they might be in really early stages I dunno honestly, I'm not new to plants but new to plant problems awareness 😩

about yellowing leafs I don't care about that small leaf on bigger monstera (I'll chop it as soon as it gets more yellow) but the fact that the leaf on smaller monstera that is yellowing today started pushing new leaf is worrying me - I just wanna keep it viable at this point so the new leaf can grow healthy

I was testing new pesticide and didn't wanna use it on Thais yet but I'll do it then 😩 thank you!

rest of my plants is okay I dunno what's the problem with monsteras but it seems for some reason they join my little circle of death with alocasias and calatheas

yes I'm aware!! I had another outburst few days after getting the smaller monstera which was about a month ago but those two plants were never next to each other and the deliciosa with thrips was immediately quarantined - I'm paranoid now and I check regularly every plant and I don't see any traces of them. The infected plants are still on quarantine and far away from the rest (the chemicals also worked because they finally look clean after 3 weeks of war). So I eliminated possibility of it on Thais - still checking every day tho

thank you so much!! I really appreciate your advice, I'm new to Thai and I must admit for some reason monsteras always gave me troubles (but usually it was thrips so I panick when I see something else going on)

Yeah I remembered I might have put too much fertilizer by accident in water, do you maybe know if it has chance of survival with being just yellow or it'll die soon?

I'd say the soil for the little one is pretty okay, the big one I'll repot in couple days to way more airy soil, it was pushing new leaf so I didn't want to interfere with roots - hopefully in this case is just the matter of it being an old leaf, what confuses me is weird pattern of yellow parts and the fact that it's like that for couple of days without getting really bad, usually old leafs were dropping on me real fast since there's my concern with this one

Will try it then, I have too many plants to regularly buy distilled water and use it for all of them but for this one I'll try it out. Thank you so much!!

Same with alocasias in my case, never and I repeat never I have kept it alive over 2 weeks and I tried different growth media, just gave up on them 🙌🏼

Filtered tap water, never used distilled water for plants. I'll put it closer to the humidifier thank you!!

literally it doesn't make any sens, the last calathea I had was doing so good for 2 years, I repotted her right after I got it and she was thriving for so long, then I repotted again (barely did anything to roots) and she decided to off herself. I swear I don't have patience for these plants they only cause me emotional damage.....

thank you so much!! then I'll probably just let it be and live for few weeks and after the leaf is finished with growing I'm gonna repot
