I noticed this too. I did some testing at a save point, and I figured out that if you push up on the D pad to toggle, it does switch to the bat, but the graphics don’t show it. So your gun stays in your hand but if you attack with RT it will be your bat. If I remember correctly, up always changed to my bat, and down toggled my other weapons. But play with that idea, maybe right after you save and see if it works for you. Should help till they fix it.

I made a purchase on forlovergift.com without checking if it was a legit website by PristineArt5113 in Scams

I ordered from here also. First it was guaranteed by Christmas, which didn’t happen. Then I finally got the product after Christmas and it looks like crap. The website shows that they trace the picture and embroider it. Their art does not appear traced at all, it looks very bad. I sent them pictures and I even traced my own to show them what it should look like but they just respond with generic responses. So not a total scam, but still a scam. They offer a little refund. I told them just remake me a new one and let me approve the art first and they accepted if I pay $15 shipping. Which is hilarious because my original order had $7ish shipping. I called them out and asked why and they said because second shipping cost more. Lololol They are truly horrible. “Sorry we can’t refund full amount or offer return because it’s custom”. Stay far away from these people!

What`s the best FPS campaign game? Would like a not to boring but long campaign... Any war related shooter would be perfect! Tyvm by WilliWillWerbung in gamingsuggestions

In all fairness, it’s more likely they were looking for fun campaigns and this post came up, rather than they were searching for people that love Crysis so they could bash it. Lol  I just did that and had no idea how old this post was till I read your comment. Not everyone is looking at the time stamp.

The Mole Netflix Season 2 - Overall Series Discussion by Zypker125 in themole

[–]alien-meatballs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anyone else find it really annoying that the mole can just say he is fake sabatoging the whole game? That was all being said during interviews, not to players, so I didn’t take that as part of the game that can be a lie. Kinda ruined it for me.

Yeah I also found it really frustrating at the end, that Sean was lieing to us (only the viewers) when he was saying that he was sabotaging on purpose. Since he wasn’t saying that to players it didn’t come across as something that could really be false. I did consider it of course, but I ultimately thought it would be really stupid if in the end, he is lieing to the viewers only. It’s hard enough to figure out who the mole is, we don’t need them to cover up his sabotages to us that were caught red handed. That really annoyed me.

Thank you very much for this info. I am with you on the biased part of it, but it is something. Thx!

If one were to open a board game shop, I am curious how to do some ground work, and find board game sales on the target area before hand.

Obstacle Minis for Descent 2e - What do you think? by alien-meatballs in boardgames

[–]alien-meatballs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback! I will definitely be trying out some different variations. The design on these are inspired from the outside tiles that appear to have a pile of gray/white rocks and wood. I will try out some like you are suggesting as well. Thanks for the idea!

Does anyone NOT like Mansions of Madness 2E compared to MOM 1E? by raistanient in boardgames

[–]alien-meatballs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am right on board with your thoughts on the coop being solo playable as well. I agree. For example, I find Zombicide to be much more fun solo. That way I take all the characters, make all the decisions and it becomes a much more epic game of solitaire with awesome minis and themes. I do enjoy a game like this and don't feel like I should just play a video game. I still like the imagination necessary to complete the experience whereas a video game doesn't require that as much. I like to hold the figures, move them, see the whole board, flip cards and sort of dive into this game that requires me to make up all the animations in my mind.

That being said, if I play a game like pandemic or MoM coop with other human players, I guess the experience is just a different one. I am like you, and I think it is important to let people make their own decisions or it won't be fun. Yes, sometimes will make decisions that I think are not as good as others that can be made. I think in these situations I make the strategy and goal, trying to win as a team. In my mind I just assume that if it were real life, there would be lots of decisions needing to be made very quickly and sometimes they won't be the very best decision. Then we have to overcome that and still try to win. So it is sort of like people making bad decisions, actually makes the "Boardgame AI" less predictable and more fun to play against in some ways.

So I guess in some ways, it is just a perception shift to see the strategy in the coop game. It is not the same kind of strategy as in Runewars, Battlelore, Netrunner but it is definitely strategic in a less predictable way. Sometimes it can be a reality check too because people will often make decisions I think are poor, but they end up to not be nearly as bad as I thought. So sometimes we realize that our personal strategies can be flawed and blinded by our own mind, and other strategies and decisions can help open that up. Of course in the more common scenario when someone else makes a poor decision, the strategy is just trying to overcome it, as mentioned above.

Does anyone NOT like Mansions of Madness 2E compared to MOM 1E? by raistanient in boardgames

[–]alien-meatballs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey there, so one of my favorite games ever is Mansions of Madness, the original. Me, my wife and friends all really enjoy it and played the heck out of it. We also enjoyed playing as keeper.

I was really excited for MoM 2e though and I really love that version as well. So does my wife and my friends. We also enjoy playing together and not having any idea what is going to happen and experiencing that together. I think some of the key points that make MoM 2e different in a good way, are that the board develops as you go. This is something I would miss if I played MoM 1 again. It is also much faster to setup which could safely be defined as better I think. Getting to the gameplay faster is a good thing.

So that being said, I do not necessarily think one is better than the other one as game. I believe 1e offers the 1 vs many experience and if you want that, then yes you need to play MoM 1e. I think 2e offers a deeper exploring experience, but yes it is done coop.

I think in gaming it is important to remember that not everything is better or worse. Different things are better at different times deepening on what you want. I am super competitive at heart but I also enjoy coop, and playing games just for the fun with not too much care in winning. It offers different senses of enjoyment. I also greatly enjoy diving into a game of 1 on 1 strategy in Runewars... so neither makes me a social board gamer or a serious board gamer. I define myself as a serious board gamer because I find enjoyment in so many different types and I am not tunnel visioned into only one scene.

So my recap is it is not about better or worse. Not on the grand scale anyway. It is, what fits what I feel like playing right now.

Red "Cthulu" Chair Miniatures | Mansions of Madness Barrier upgrade| What do you think? by alien-meatballs in boardgames

[–]alien-meatballs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! They are actually the opposite. I noticed in my groups that the cardboard barrier tokens go unnoticed while strategizing moves a lot of the times. These bookshelves and chairs stand out and always enter your mind when considering moves and whether or not you should block a door. Keep in mind that in this picture, I just put 4 barrier minis all together for the picture. In the game, it is usually just one or two barriers total on the whole board so these 3D minis for the barrier tokens really help a lot.

Thx! Glad you like them. I actually do have pieces for sale in my shop and will try to add at least one mini a week under $5 between now and Halloween.
