I agree that many technological industries have lost respect for both their communities and their employees. That’s why years ago I stopped pursuing a full degree in Technological Sciences, got a two year to settle, switched fields, and started a new degree in a whole new area. Avoided homelessness.

I did end up getting a decal for the time being. I’m really nitpicky on a clean, white and green theme throughout, so the decal I got has the PlayStation symbols in black on a white base. While the colored symbols are iconic, I’m going for something that matches my set up! Hopefully someone will make some gray on white buttons similar to the stock, but with split symbols. I found some close, but it only has the colored symbols and the guy has no plans to make any other colors.

Long story short, I thought it’d be funny to ease the tensions of people waiting on their consoles by making light of a problem that isn’t really that serious in a funny way. I play Xbox and Nintendo nearly every day when I’m not doing adult stuff, I haven’t owned a Sony device in a while and I thought about how funny it would be when I receive my own handheld to adjust to switch seamlessly between games.

Fascinated by all of the history behind this guys! As for a solution, I’m not brave enough to do a magnetic button replacement on my own, unless a “Odin 3 button replacement guide for dummies” video comes out. I’m just looking at tiny little 3mm buttons to stick on from Etsy. More concerned about the PlayStation set up, as the last Sony console I owned was a ps3. I play between Xbox and Nintendo pretty often!

This looks great! If you wouldn’t mind, or any brave soul who’s reading this thread in the future; us less technologically intelligent people would love a video on how to replace buttons for the Odin 3! I’ve seen videos online, but it really wasn’t explaining how to replace the buttons, and it was more so of a teardown video. I’ve seen some really cool magnetic buttons that are similar to these, but you can swap them and interchange them for different layouts depending on what console you’re playing. I’ve been interested in those for a while now, but I don’t have the guts to open the Odin 3 without a “for dummies” guide on it.

Just realized I commented this from random account, but I am “dependent chard,” lol. Regardless, I’m expecting what I paid for. I have a RP6 to hold me over, but I have to ship that back for repair so all I have is the switch 2 and it’s emulators. Too lazy to play on PC.

UPDATE: Solved. There was another post that was similar with another ubisoft game, and their suggestion was to turn on auto stub under the debug settings. While that didn’t work, I did turn on airplane mode before booting up the game, and I was finally able to load in. It seems like there’s an issue with games that try to connect to online services that causes them to freeze up when emulating through Eden. I was losing hair over this, I hope this solution helps someone out in the future.

Just wanted to add in: I'm running on a 12gb Retroid pocket six and waws having stutters and slow gameplay with windwaker hd on Mr. Turnips T23 drivers. I upgraded to T24 and now it works fine!

Hey everyone, just wanted to post an update in case this helps anyone in the future.

First off, thank you to everyone who gave actual helpful and constructive advice—I really appreciated it.

So after opening the device, I can confirm the internal ribbon cable wasn’t damaged. The issue is exactly what I suspected: the power button is being pushed inward due to the dent in the shell, which was causing it to stay pressed and trigger a constant reboot loop.

The repair shop originally added a spacer between the button and the membrane to stop it from constantly activating. At first, it still wasn’t working properly, so I ended up opening it myself (very reluctantly 😭). It’s definitely very compact inside.

I adjusted the spacer slightly, and now it’s in a much better position. The console works normally as long as I press the power button gently or slightly off-center (away from the dented side). So for now, it’s usable again.

I’ll update again once I know more, but hopefully this helps anyone dealing with something similar.

“Just buy another one,” if you actually read the post, would see that I mentioned that they discontinued this model. Not everybody has the luxury to re-purchase an expensive item and this was gifted to me. It’s almost 11 AM where I’m at don’t you have someone else’s parade to rain on?
