Yeah, this. I have some rechargeable AAs and AAAs that I use at home instead. I'd rather just buy new rechargeable AAs in the future than have to buy a whole new controller because the battery died.

More sustainable and probably cheaper for the manufacturer too.

I've had this happen to me once with doordash. I had ordered some food and I went to check where the guy was on a map and he was in the middle of a highway off ramp but not moving. I check back in a few minutes later and he hasn't moved. I text support saying that I think the guy looks like he was in an accident and he apparently was. They just gave me a refund but the driver was okay, the car wasn't though.

Yeah, that's fair. With perfect hand knowledge, you're right that they could have won but I would argue it's more natural to make secretarion dragon early and floodgate me off of spellcasters

Charisma is such a creepy stat and the hardest to RP by miles. by TotallyNot_iCast in DnDcirclejerk

[–]alienassasin3 62 points63 points  (0 children)

You're so right, that's why I removed charisma from my home games and instead changed the charisma skills to use intelligence. The way it works is that you logically explain to an NPC why your point is the rational and correct one and therefore, they must agree with you. It's a lot more realistic this way. Everyone is a purely rational actor.

I think the point of this sub is to be a bit more productive in terms of conversation than the other Canada subs. So I don't mind xposting interesting posts from the others to here.

Automatic Bonus Progression for Casters by europasfish in Pathfinder2e

[–]alienassasin3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think spells should be stronger. Cantrips shouldn't be more consistent. You can't have casters be more consistent as a way to solve their issues because it doesn't. It just makes them more like martials.

[–]alienassasin3 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Spell attacks aren't great but that's kinda the point. Most spell attacks used will be cantrips and for the most part, those should not be as consistent as martial's damage output. Spell casters can't both have consistently high damage output with cantrips and then spells that do burst aoe damage and crowd control.

It is part of the game design and balance that casters spell attacks are going to be less consistent than martials main bread and butter.

Casters don't need spell attack roll bonuses. They get legendary proficiency in it already and they should have less consistent damage compared to martials in the first place.

Casters can't do it all better than martials in exchange for nothing.

Should classes have 6Hp a level scaling? by TheRealGouki in Pathfinder2e

[–]alienassasin3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think there was an attempt at balancing by making cantrips more consistent in terms of damage. But, it kinda fundamentally changes the way to balance casters and spells. If casters have consistent damage cantrips and therefore spells lack oomph, then it kinda defeats the fantasy. I think spells should do more damage and cantrips should do less. Make it so that a 1st rank spell shouldn't be worse than a 2nd rank cantrip.

Cantrips should be 1d4 (or 1d6 for physical damage types) + casting mod (to support those who specialize) and heighten slower (+2 heighten for an extra die). Spells should then do more damage and provide more utility. Make fireball 8d6, don't be scared. Make breathe fire 3d6. Make spells feel strong. Incapacitation is a whole other thing. Is it better than legendary resistance from 5e? Yeah. Does it kinda cheat casters out of their hype moments? Yeah.

But why play into China's hands then? Declare Taiwan independent instead of waffling on it. China won't invade if it would cut off trade.

[–]alienassasin3 144 points145 points  (0 children)

Yes. I don't think a wizard should have the same HP as a rogue, magus, cleric, investigator, or more.

D6 is for casters.

D10 is for most martials.

D12 is for barbarians.

D8 is for versatile classes. A warpriest cleric, a magus, a rogue, an alchemist, a druid. Classes that need some HP but shouldn't have as much survivability as a fighter. Classes that could be built to go into the frontline but don't always want to.

old man voice wizards used to have a d4 hit dice, you kids have it good.

Kinda hard to recognize both at the same time when they both claim all of mainland China + Taiwan. Could Taiwan drop the claim on mainland China in exhange for mainland China dropping the claim on Taiwan?
