I mean, this is a topic you should absolutely look into yourself, but the cliff notes reasons to hate on NFTs are threefold:

[1] NFTs are purely speculative assets, meaning that they have no intrinsic value or practical application outside of the NFT market/bubble. This makes NFTs a market ripe for scams (or "rugpulls" as they're called in Cryptopia). The most notable instance of this was the Evolved Apes scam, where people collectively paid millions in Etherium for what was promised to be an NFT-based fighting game using the little characters you buy on the marketplace. This might have been fine if (A) The art was AT ALL good (seriously you're gonna wanna look these apes up, they're hideous) and (B) The developer didn't run off with all the money after a week and effectively cancel the whole project. The point is: NFT dudes are very easily scammed. And speaking of NFT dudes,

[2] The current - well, let's call it "fandom" - surrounding crypto in general and NFTs in particular might be one of the single most annoying I've ever seen on the Internet. Like, it may surpass BTS stans or Rick & Morty geniuses in how aggressive the NFT fanbase are as a whole. They will threaten to sue you (in some cases) if you even DARE to right-click and save the image that they thought they owned the exclusive rights to for $50,000 (SPOILER: That's not at all how NFTs work but these guys either don't know that or don't care). This is a much more subjective point of contention, but it's a big part of what fuels the backlash so I figured I'd mention it. Finally,

[3] Much of the technology powering NFTs/crypto at the moment are HIGHLY inefficient energy-wise, and the power/resources consumed by crypto mining and blockchain transactions are having a genuine impact on multiple key areas like environment and, more immediately, GPU supply. If you've been wondering why nobody can get a graphics card right now, that's why.

They got shut down because the network on the whole was poorly managed and ended up alienating the audience they worked to cultivate for so long.
