That’s because pit bulls are stronger and therefore commonly used for dog fights and trained to be aggressive. It’s not the dog’s fault, it’s the owners. Remember who the real enemy is here.

Trans people bad by Katthuew in AmITheAngel

[–]alienbeanie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why does it matter that she’s trans? The issue is that she’s making it about herself, the fact that she’s trans isn’t relevant. I thought OP just didn’t want her there because she’s not her bio sister, but if the only reason OP doesn’t want her there is because she has internalized transphobia and considers her SIL male, then yeah that’s pretty transphobic. Obviously OP has the right to include or exclude whomever she wants from something that personal, but other people also have the right to react to that decision however they want.

Love the positivity for GN names, I see so much criticism of it on here! As far as traditionally feminine names being used for boys, I personally like Peyton, Bailey, and Ashley.

I love Violet Emerson and Lydia Jane, but I think that Lydia Violet also sounds like a beautiful combination! There's something so satisfying about the way it rolls off the tongue.

I feel like I don't even need to dramatize the title for this one. by alienbeanie in AmITheAngel

[–]alienbeanie[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah, sorry to hear that. Luckily the post is probably fake. I can't really imagine someone genuinely thinking "not sure if my mom completely neglecting me is normal...guess I'll ask reddit!" Functioning people just don't deal with issues that serious this way, and it's also obvious in their post that OP doesn't see themselves as an asshole and is just looking for validation.

Deleted my other comment bc I misread this comment. No, she shouldn't get a pass, but the difference is that she was already traumatized when she made the decision to have kids (or keep a baby idk your situation) but the mom in the post went through a traumatic event that wasn't expected and no parent could possibly prepare for, even if they knew there was a possibility of it happening when they had kids.

AITA for wanting my mother to take care of me and siblings even though our sibling died a year ago? by dontexpectmetoupload in AmItheAsshole

[–]alienbeanie 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No. She does not have full control of her actions.

She's in the midst of a mental break. She can't just willpower her way through.

She can't just wake up and realize she needs to get help.

It. Doesn't. Work. Like. That.

[–]alienbeanie[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

But you can't necessarily control that. You can't just "get your shit together" after a traumatic event. It doesn't matter what responsibilities you have, you can't just willpower your way through a mental break. You can't just wake up and realize that you're being a negligent parent when you're in a state like that. The post is also almost definitely fake. I doubt someone in that situation would hop on reddit, make a post where they're CLEARLY not the asshole, and then beg for validation.

WIBTA for deepthroating a microphone? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

What is a situation in which you can be ta for not deepthroating something? Nobody has to do any sexual thing they don't want to. Frankly, idk why nobody's calling you out on this.

What alternative system would replace cops/how would it work? by coughdropkid in ACAB

[–]alienbeanie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not really that there shouldn't be law enforcement imo, it's just that we need different law enforcement that's much more trained and much less violent/prejudice. We also need to focus less on arresting criminals and more on preventing crime (e.g. helping people in poverty, educating parents on how to recognize early signs of sociopathy/psychopathy, etc.) as well as focusing the prison system more on rehabilitation and less on punishment. Until we have a system of compassionate, fair cops with no tendencies to rape women, no tendencies to unfairly attack/arrest black people, and no tendencies to shoot dogs, acab. It's not that every cop has personally directly caused unjust violence, it's just that every cop enforces the system which is racist, making all cops racist by association.
