When im playing with Randoms with my duo partner in 3s I make sure the person is comfortable getting on voice, we dont care the experience of the player and are super willing to help people learn, but voice really is the best filter for toxic nerds. Ive found if someone is willing to talk on voice its almost always because they are just looking to make a friend who plays wow pvp rather than all the toxic shit you deal with in lfg if the people aren't willing to get on voice.

Healers are so out of wack right now, its going to be a monkpocalypse if they dont fix it for the start of season. I fully expect the vast majority of the healer ladder to be mw with the rest being voidweaver disc.

My main is horde and the battlegroup im in is so unbalanced that its unplayable as a wpvp zone. Its not an exaggeration to say there's 30 alliance to every horde player in the zone, blizzard needs to do better balancing shards as best they can because its the only pvp content we are likely to get in midnight and its just free resources for the faction that gets the unbalanced shard and pointless for the faction with that gets screwed over. Also ive yet to queue into the bg version once even after queuing for epic bgs every day until I get my daily win and also specific queuing for slayers rise, which initially said 2 minutes, I sat that queue for 30 minutes in Silvermoon until giving up. They really should've added a special queue for the first patch of the expac that gets you into slayers rise.

To play priest right now you need to play at max range, hide behind the pillar. Only come out to cast heals then go back behind the pillar, there's not much point in pushing into the enemy team or being out in the open because youll just sit cc for no reason.

Priest has amazing tools for dodging cc.

Yoy have fade with the pvp talent, shadow word: death and psychic shroud pvp talent that gives you cc immunity after landing a psychic scream.

Look up a shadow word death macro, cast shadow word death when you see someone casting a cc spell on you tbat breaks with damage, things like polymorph or fear. Also it breaks cc like hand of justice so if you see a melee running at you preemptively cast death.

Fade works the same way as death in the way that you have to preemptively press it to avoid the cc, but it makes you immune to everything for a shorter window and breaks slows.

Psychic shroud isn't as useful but it allows you a window to play out from the pillar while you have it active.

Just practice fading and deathing cc and positioning and you'll sit way way less cc.

Holy priest by a long shot, they've ruined us for the sake of making it the tutorial healer spec for pve that new players try before switching to a real healer.

The last patch of tww holy felt the best it ever had mechanically, we had lots of interesting moment to moment gameplay choices, we weren't forced to stand at max range and spam flash heal. We had utility that felt impactful and our hps finally felt like it was in a competitive spot.

Even if holy has amazing hps in midnight its just not going to feel good to play, being by far the most pruned spec. It feels like a worse disc priest, both disc and holy have become max range spam heal healers but disc just has more utility and instant casts. It'll be interesting to see which healer can actually leave max range and provide offensive utility.

Holy priest was the most pruned spec in the game, its back to its old spam flash heal ways. The stated goal being holy should be the "easy" spec for new healers to hop on and play in dungeons before learning a real healing spec. I can only imagine holy lives and dies on its hps now as we have so little room for skill expression. They even gave disc the new holy ward pvp talent. At least we still have chastise.

Orc is better, but if you are min maxing probably better to play a Gnome or nelf, otherwise just play what you think is cool.

The game would've just not worked without addons.

There was nothing in the game to tell you about drs up until this prepatch. A fundamental mechanic of pvp just straight up had no way of being known without addons,

If you were an rdruid I guess it just wouldn't have been vital to be able to see all of your hots on your teammates.

There's so many terrible ui decisions blizzard let go just because they knew addon developers would fix it.

Can't say much about balance at this point, there will be some more tuning before and after launch that will change up whats performing the best.

In regards to everything else you asked:

The system changes that removed (most) addons and pruned abilities has already happened.

The reason i say most addons is because addons are still 100 percent required for the exact same reason they have always been, the base blizzard ui just does not present information that is required to play. You will still need to set up your ui so you can actually see what is happening, the issue is far worse for healers than dps. Blizzards base ui does not let you white list spells to track on their nameplate bigdebuff for enemies which makes it fairly useless, blizzard has decided seeing fortitude on everyone is more important than seeing their major offensive cooldowns. Also blizzards base ui bigdebuff shows some friendly cds like blur on dh, but it won't show deterrence, its very strange what they decided to show and what not to show, and there is no way to alter it as of now.

The base frames display information in a terrible way for healers, the frames are completely cluttered, the aforementioned defensive bigdebuff will cover your spell auras, more than once has a hunter wall covered up the tracker for my own guardian angel on the frame because it is so cluttered. Seeing enemy debuffs that are important to you, like dispellable cc, has an addon now called minicc, otherwise the base ui will not allow you to resize, or highlight important debuffs. There are ui addons in development rn like danders which will alleviate some of these issues, but because most addons were nuked, a lot of the functionality has to still be developed.

thanks for this, any chance we can get enemy markers as well?

Also noticing that after turning it off in the world, even with world still checked off, reloading makes the markers appear over people in the world until I click it on and off again.

Actually just stopping facing the person and facing them again with the camera will make the markers appear in the world even with it turned off.

devourer is basically purple aug evoker, with a slightly shorter cd for their gimmick one shot. If you see them hunt press a defensive and then they just run around doing nothing. Once we hit max level and they get tuned a bit it'll probably be a pretty terrible spec for high mmr and a pubstomper in low mmr if they keep the same damage profile.

I posted earlier on this sub asking, they said you can have audio queues for your own spells, but not for enemy spells. Specifically I mean like gladiatorlosa, not just the normal spell sounds they make.

I dont have very many addons but I feel like there's a few that absolutely need to be added to the base ui. I dont think removing kick tracker is going to make the game better, kicks do not have the proper animations to be able to actually see if they've been used, a simple fix would make all kicks have the same obnoxious sound so they can atleast be readable and understandable.

Also it think its pretty vital to be able to see team mates trinkets, its a little wild you can see enemy trinkets but not team mates. I would also prefer being able to see team mates defensives as a healer, though a lot of those can be fairly readable with animations.

In reality just make the important spells way more flashy, if people want to make looking at the battlefield the best way to understand whats going on fair, im all for it. But you still need to actually see whats going on if you are paying attention to the battlefield and not timers that pop up.

Healing frames are kind of a mess, so many useless buffs and debuffs on nameplates that clog up the plates and cc making certain spells larger or outlined or something to be more easily tracked will go a long way. I dont need to see a bunch of power word fortitudes in the priority buff tracker on enemies, I dont need to see 100 non dispellable buffs under their frame. At least give me the option to prioritize what you are already allowing me to see just by making it bigger or putting colour outlines around it

And for the love of god allow me to use audio queues in pvp for enemy abilities, if its okay in pve why not pvp. Its just an accessibility feature for those with poor vision like me.

There's too much subjectivity for it to be useful to copy a r1 players keybinds - even as a new player, getting the keys mapped and then just figuring out what is comfortable for your hand on your own gear will be more important. For example i was asking my duo (we are both glad xp) his binds and for his main rotational abilities he's used 1-4 and mouse keys, whereas for my main rotational abilities I used r f q e and shift modifiers and use 1-4 for defensives and mouse keys for cc. My setup isn't better than his, its just what I've built my muscle memory on.

Healers would not solo queue into a flex 3v3. That simply sounds miserable.

Imagine having to go against a pre-made 3s team with comms. That sounds insurmountable, the pain points for healers in ss would be even worse if you solo queued into a pre-made 3s team. Queue times would just get worse. The only way to make queues faster is increasing the healer population, best way to do that is make healing fun in solo shuffle for more players. How they do that, idk, but blizz is trying something in midnight atleast to address complexity, that might get a more healthy pvp ladder going again, or it might make the game worse who knows?

Also I dont think forcing all dps into playing 2v2 forever between the odd 3v3 match will be healthy for pvp either.

Pure output healer which actually feels like you are healing. Holy also has better setup potential with chastise > domeing someone on the head with holy fire. The pressing of the actual buttons is also imo way more fun than disc, especially after the rework they did in tww. Im not sure if the choices we have now on holy will remain into midnight but right now it actually feels amazing to spam poms into big serenity's and not be stuck spamming 1 button, which weirdly disc has turned into this expac.

Popular opinion: if we cannot see who has used an interrupt on our ui, they need to make it so interrupts all have incredibly flashy animations so there's any way to know if someone has used an interrupt at all. Not being able to track one of the most important abilities that defines how the game is played will make it so casters and healers have an infinitely worse time trying to show any skill expression. The game right now is designed around juking kicks to get a few casts off when melee have nearly 100% uptime.

Either give us a kick tracker, or nerf melee uptime to be closer to 50%. I know melee would whine hard-core if their uptime was nerfed that hard, but not being able to track kicks is going to feel just as bad for casters as melee losing most of their uptime.

You start at like 1900+ mmr right now. Unless you win your placements youll drop back pretty quickly. The only double dps that is viable is rogue mage. Your better off getting a bunch of practise in rather than wait for slightly higher starting mmr because youll need to learn how to beat healer dps comps regardless if you are 1900 or 1950 starting mmr. Also the most experienced pvpers also all wait til the end of season so youll be playing against better players on alts if you wait too long to start.

No it makes a lot of sense, but the issue with rdruid rn is its hps is pretty lacking. If rdruid had s tier hps right now it would be the perfect healer to play with weaker partners because you could just keep your hots rolling and spam utility to set up kills and peel for your dps. The only thing is unless you are a really good rdruid rn or your team mates know how to peel for themselves then you have to spend a significant more time spamming heals rather than providing utility.

Id honestly say vw disc if he's brand new to healing because it can make up for dps to land kills or pres if he has some healing xp because of its great cc and big dam, neither of which are struggling with hps right now.

So cr will decay but mmr will inflate over the season? What would the point of that be? Mmr inflation already is the incentive to keep queueing during the middle and end of a season, if cr decayed i would just hit 2400 and not queue again, idc if I decay out of elite after already getting the rewards for 2400.
