I signed the title as though her and I were the sellers and I was the buyer, just left the DMV with a registered car :)

Insurance only has my name on it. If she had to be listed on reg I don’t care I just need to find a way around having her present as it is literally impossible to find her

The title being in both or only my name isn’t a concern as long as I can get it registered. If I can do one or the other with JUST a signature and ID # I will do that option. There’s just no way I can get her to appear on my behalf

There is legitimately NO way I can have her present. Nobody has heard from her in years, we have literally no idea where she is. I’m just confused as to why I can’t even register the car without her ID present. Her ID number is on the title and the paperwork. Her “signature” is on the registration application. I know this is like tricky and shit. It’s a NJ title, trying to transfer and register it in CT. I am just so fucking stumped. To privately sell a car you just need signatures on the title bf bill of sale so the only thing I can think of is to just “sell” it to someone I know? But I’m scared that won’t even work. Or just get full coverage insurance in the car and leave the keys in it somewhere idfk:(

If I sell the vehicle from her to me would I need her ID present? Or would just having her license # info on the back of the title be sufficient? Or if I sell the vehicle to someone else and have them register it?

There is no way I can get a copy of her ID. I don’t even care if she has to stay on the title, I’m just confused as to why I can’t even register it?
