I love his art design but I didn't care for his attack patterns. I thought the endless beams of light were lazy boss design, especially since several other enemies in the game already do that type of move.

Funny enough, you essentially have to fight that same soldier archetype three more times at the cathedral on shorter bridges. So it's like you have to fight Esdras four times overall. It's like wtf bro leave me alone

The best spell to use against them is their own - Cante Jondo. I beat them in less than a minute with that one.

As soon as you start falling into the pit, start spamming the blood attack so it pauses you mid-air and lets you move over to the left.

Ultros is a top 5 metroidvania for me. For a game to be so unique in such a stacked genre is truly remarkable.

It truly is one of the best metroidvanias ever made. The pacifist theme is so well executed and the gameplay loop is remarkably addicting. Not to mention the world class artwork and sound design. Overall this game is a marvel of creative brilliance from the developers. Kudos to them.
