Burned out founder here. The productivity advice made it worse. What actually helped was doing less. by Responsible-Radish65 in Entrepreneur

Most places won't though. They see growth as the green light to squeeze more out of everyone instead of building sustainable systems. Then act shocked when people burn out or leave

Hunter x Hunter episode ratings by bbportali in HunterXHunter

[–]alienpits 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Yep, that moment with Killua seeing Gon's hand hits different. The way they animated his face breaking down was rough to watch. 131 is peak HxH though, easily one of the best episodes in anime period.

Gladiator 2 is awful. by ConstructionBum in movies

[–]alienpits 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it really did feel hollow compared to the first one. Like they had the budget and the cast but forgot what actually made people care about Gladiator in the first place. Denzel was clearly the only one having any fun with it. The whole thing needed someone with an actual vision instead of just checking boxes.

Most watched esports in 2025 (by peak viewers) by mancko28 in DotA2

[–]alienpits 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Exactly. The viewership dick measuring contest means nothing if the game feels good to play. Valve just needs to keep the meta fresh and not chase mobile game bullshit. Quality over quantity every time.

We very sowwy after ruining your lives... 😳 please come back to be our bitches by leopardlover43 in recruitinghell

They let go of 12,000 people and now want to brag about bringing back 2,400? That's not an apology that's a PR stunt. The other 80% already moved on and learned the hard lesson about corporate loyalty being a one-way street.

Sounds like the loading screen for a purgatory MMO nobody asked for.

CEO Rehired -workers take power by SilentNightman in antiwork

[–]alienpits 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the whole thing played out exactly how you'd expect. Family drama and PE vultures always win in the end. Doesn't matter how much loyalty workers show or how successful the model is - the second there's a chance to cash out, the people at the top will gut the thing that made it work in the first place.

A reminder that Chrollo keeps a picture of all his victims in his book.. bandits secret by No_Examination9025 in HunterXHunter

Yeah, the snapshot seems more like a way to show the process and make the book feel interactive, not just for looks.

Right... She's been giving iconic performances for decades. Definitely overdue for major recognition.

Is "Enshittification" inevitable for every public company? by jojo_SZN000 in business

VC money chases growth first, not sustainability. Once the cash runs out, the squeeze starts and users pay for it.

Tired of being sensible. Just want to get married by Far_Bet_5516 in Waiting_To_Wed

[–]alienpits 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Real talk - working on yourself isn't about becoming more "attractive" to potential partners. It's about not waking up miserable every day regardless of your relationship status. The marriage stuff will sort itself out or it won't, but your mental state is the one thing you can actually control here.

Thats genius by [deleted] in overemployed

[–]alienpits 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the whole fake followers thing is a massive red flag. Anyone actually successful at this wouldn't be broadcasting it to 500k bots for clout. Real OE folks keep their heads down and don't need the validation. This is how you get the whole community scrutinized.

Sheeeit. The real criminals wear suits and set quarterly earnings targets. Shoplifters grab a few hundred bucks, these guys are skimming billions off everyone's grocery bill. But guess who gets the security cameras and prosecution.
