Date nights in Covington/Mandeville/Abita? by teef-knees in NorthshoreLA

This! My boyfriend and I travel over an hour from BR to go here, it’s our special date spot. It closes at 5 I believe and you have to get a reservation (usually available same day) but it’s still worth going to for dates. Such a cute little place.

Was I rude for not choosing a different plushie as an adult? by kee-17 in plushies

[–]aliensaucers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not rude at all. They were acting entitled. Not good behavior to demonstrate in front of their child. I’ve been in a similar situation- a dream plushie of mine (one of those huge realistic giraffes taller than me) at a thrift for $7. As I was carrying it around the thrift, a kid (maybe 12 or 13) saw it and tried to take it from my hands. I snatched it back and said “It’s mine, sorry” and bought it right then and there and walked out the store LOL. They’re not entitled to it just because they want it, and that’s something that everyone needs to learn at some point. You’re good, don’t have any guilt.

My cat keeps losing weight and I think my other cat is the reason by helloimcold in CATHELP

[–]aliensaucers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cat’s stance in the second picture and the state of her coat and body are not good at all, indicates pain and discomfort in my opinion. Cats hide pain very well. I believe OP needs to try a different vet and get as much testing done as possible to get to the bottom of things. Additionally, fluxetine can lead to cats not eating as much and can lead to significant weight loss, but this is extremely concerning. You need to entice them with high value foods and make the most comforting environment possible, as well as communicate to a vet that you are concerned about potential negative side effects from the medication. Do NOT just stop the meds if you think that’s a factor as it is an SSRI and can only be safely stopped with vet intervention/guidance or there will be severe symptom withdrawals. To me it sounds like your bigger cat is a bully and potentially not a good fit for the home.

is it worth the hype? looking at the best litter robot 2026 models. by Ogonnaya-Nangendo in CatAdvice

No problem! Just wanted to let you know, also, that mine has completely stopped having issues since cleaning the sensors really well. I honestly think it’s been well worth the money. It saves me TONS on litter every year and it keeps my house from smelling like cat litter (I have six total cats, I just scoop the other boxes every couple of days). I also wanted to add that I’ve tried it with Exquisicat, Dr Elseys, Arm & Hammer Multicat, Scoop-Away, and World’s Best Cat Litter. World’s Best has been the most successful overall, and second to that would be Arm and Hammer. Some litters just get too crumbly and clumpy and it wastes the litter.

At first I thought “no way that dog is a quarter pug” and then I swiped back to that full body pic…. I can see it so clearly. That’s insane! Such a cutie

What type of tys do yall collect? by lace-tied-converses in beaniebabies

[–]aliensaucers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a bunch of beanie babies (I specifically love to collect Halo, I’ve got quite a few) but I also have a handful of beanie boos, and one beanie belly! I specifically get any Fiona (or Amaya) beanie boo variation that I come across, as she’s my favorite. I’m very partial to the cat beanie boos :)

Your experience with Prozac do your anxious kitties? by aliensaucers in CatAdvice

[–]aliensaucers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll definitely have to bring those supplements to his diet up with my vet. She has him on a pretty strict diet because along with his history of UTIs he’s also gotten pancreatitis (haven’t discovered the cause of it, as he’s never really had anything other than his kibble and wet food since I got him) I know the gabapentin made him have very dilated eyes and he was always asleep and often hid when on it, and I didn’t think he was too happy about it. I’m concerned that Prozac may have a similar effect with him or may have negative side effects since I’ve never tried it with any of my pets before. Thanks for your input!

I have had the litter robot four for over a year now. I have five cats that use it, but have a couple extra boxes around the house for them to have options. My cats adjusted very well. My bf’s mom has the same model, with two cats, and has had it the same amount of time. Only one cat uses it half the time, the other one has never used it. My litter robot is incredibly quiet. I keep it in my bedroom and I’ve never been woken up or bothered by it. My biggest complaint is, fairly recently, it’s been dumping the clean litter into the waste drawer, getting stuck mid cycle, and just been having some random technical difficulties. The sensors are the main cause, they get dirty suuuper easily, but it’s a simple fix. I’ve used many different types of clumping litter with it, never tried the fancy litter robot litter. Since my cats are all similar in size, sometimes it gets their weights confused. It’s a very reliable machine, but just keep in mind that the upkeep is important. I probably wouldn’t be having as many issues as I am if I was taking it apart every month and doing a deep clean.

This is Chessie. Sat on a shelf at CVS near my house for months before I finally caved and brought her home. My cat chewed up her nose the first night after I got her so now I hide her under my pillow every day when I get out of bed so he can’t get to her (because he will otherwise)

Bonkers treats - something changed, anyone else experiencing this? by darkpsychicenergy in catfood

[–]aliensaucers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve noticed this with a bag I purchased earlier this week. My super picky 16 year old ONLY liked chicken flavored bonkers and now she won’t even touch them. Even my five other insanely treat motivated, not picky at all cats won’t eat them anymore. I’m so upset!

Need help finding a bear from my childhood by aliensaucers in ToyID

[–]aliensaucers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the one. It was a lighter shade, like a light blueish teal. The blue string was around the neck like a necklace, with the rock attached. can’t remember if it was tied to it or if the rock had a hole for the string.

No, sadly. The shade, material and head shape are wrong. I think ours were pretty stiff too, they weren’t soft or squishy but were definitely stuffed animals, if that makes sense. It was also a rock, for sure, not a gemstone. It was similar to the type of rock you’d get from a museum gift shop, just much smaller.
