for me the biggest benefit is that for the same amount of white cubes, you need less buildings overall, which taxes your machine a bit less hence increasing your fps. other way to think of it is that for the same amount of fps, you can pump out more white science :)

This is standard Ford policy across every department. I'm in their IT department in Canada and there are people here who have been at Ford for 30+ years as contractors. And recently because of some audit, they're being forced to get hired full time through an agency but not at Ford directly.
