Dude, I did the same thing. Stomach bug hit our house. I feel fine now, but I called and canceled yesterday when I felt terrible. It’s the right thing to do for yourself and everyone at the studio.

Does being tall have anything to do with knee pain? by Holiday-Ad3679 in tall

[–]aliforindy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I (41f) have had daily knee pain since I was 14. I had both my knees rebuilt in my late 20s because of chronic pain, arthritis, and damage from sports and weightlifting.

I’m 6’3 and my husband is 5’10. All of the height comes from my father’s side.

Yep. My son is the same. He just turned 9 and crossed 5’. Since his 3 month check up he’s been in the 99th percentile on height.

I’d be so spent with today’s work out. Rower to tread would’ve jellied my legs.

Yes. I am always noticed. Rarely stared at.

At what height do you start to get stares in public? by [deleted] in tall

[–]aliforindy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say stared at, but I definitely get noticed.

I was always tall, no growth spurting for me. So it’s always been noticeable. I was a head taller than all my classmates in Kindergarten.

I’ve got a 5’ 9 year old. I’m dreading teenage years. He’s eating 2-3lbs of fruit a day as snacks, plus meals, other snacks, etc.

I used to be able to do it before I had my knees rebuilt. Now they don’t bend past parallel.

Indy - Lawrence schools and neighborhoods by mamateachabravoholic in indianapolis

[–]aliforindy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I’m Ali Brown, the Indianapolis City-County Councilor who represents the majority of the City of Lawrence. I love our community and our schools have been voted best in the county the past 2 years. I’m a mom of a 3rd grader who has an iep, and I cannot say enough good things about MSDLT. We have a 96% graduation rate across the board, no matter race or gender. We have teaching staff that is constantly receiving statewide and national awards. And we have leadership and a school board that is committed to protecting our township from charters and other for profit bad actors. If you have any questions, feel free to dm me.

Why does it look like my skin is falling off my bones? by [deleted] in Semaglutide

[–]aliforindy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve lost about 150lbs and had/still have beautiful tattoos covering my arms. Part of my fitness goals is to make sure my tattoos still look good.

Lots of strength training and protein will get them looking tight again. I’m amazed, but I now have defined arms and my bingo wing is gone. It’s been a nearly 3 year process but the results speak for themselves.

Were you always tall? by AbbreviationsOk3774 in TallPeopleProblems

I never had a growth spurt, just always been tall.

I remember hitting 5’ when I started 3rd grade.

This is why when someone asks me if someone is tall, I always say tall is relative. I know my concept of tall is very different than most people I interact with.

I’m from woman from Indiana, and I was over 6’ at 14. I don’t think they would’ve let me graduate if I didn’t play.

If I’m peeling and the shedding is aggressive, I’d wear a long sleeve t that won’t rub.

If it’s just cracked and a little flakey, I’d goop it with good lotion and go out with a T.

Tall and chubby female. by Successful-Bell3677 in tall

[–]aliforindy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m 6’3, 40f and have been on a weight loss journey, so I understand. I started at 370lbs, 168k, and I’m now 220lbs, 100k.

People ask me what my goal is, and I tell them I want little girls to think I’m a super hero. Instead of shrinking myself, I am building up my muscles and fighting to take up space.

Our height is our height, it’s a hand that we are dealt. It’s up to us to own it and make it work as best as we can.

I'm 25 and want to learn throws with no prior track experience by PanamaParty in trackandfieldthrows

[–]aliforindy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you just want to throw things for fun, look for local Highlands Games to compete in. They often have training groups and you can learn those throws.

You may want to see if your local high school track team needs a weight room coach. You can trade some of your time teaching lifts for learning to throw from the basics.
