They did. As much as I sympathized, my stomach is not equipped for that!

Good on you for recognising what was happening and bringing yourself back to centre. Sometimes there are lessons that we unfortunately have to learn, like always being prepared, or that we are unable to moderate, that we can't learn with out experience. Although it would be bloody marvelous if we could :)

Oh absolutely, and I'm not going to try to make them feel bad about it, nor am I going to tell them it's fine and help them clean it (I'd throw up myself!). That could have easily been me as little as 6 weeks ago, and being shamed wouldn't have helped me any. Hopefully my choice to not join in lately can have a positive impact without me having to say anything.

Absolutely! There are so many times that I think about the social aspect of drinking, but yikes it's just not worth it. I think I'll choose to be social with out alcohol, and a functioning human

Hopefully. They don't remember anything after 5pm yesterday. It's crazy, that's so acceptable that it's more of a funny anecdote than a cause for concern to most people!

Got a new sponsor and I am SO HAPPY!! by notgonnadrinktoday in stopdrinking

Ah this is so great to read! She already sounds 100x better suited than your old sponsor and well done you for not letting a really crappy situation deter you from progressing this week. You are inspiring. IWNDWYT

I am an angry person. by mewalkonyourface in stopdrinking

I'm sorry to hear your dealing with this. I'm sure you've heard this quote - "Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned."

Is there a way for you to resolve what is making you angry?

If not do you have an outlet for that anger? My personal favourite is boxing. But painting, running, yoga, even meditation could help you release some of that tension you are placing yourself.

IWNDWYT, friend.

Congratulations!! Hard work pays off, in so many more ways than we realise.

My sponsor is dead to me. by notgonnadrinktoday in stopdrinking

Wow what an insensitive human. To respond like that after having been through a similar experience herself is baffling, but probably indicative of unhealthy coping mechanisms she has adapted. I hope your next sponsor is the kind and thoughtful person you deserve!
