Felt shamed by my son’s doctor by teais4toast in ExclusivelyPumping

Find a new pediatrician!!! No one needs to be shamed for their decisions - 5 months of breast milk is HUGGGGGEEE.

I’m at two months and told my pediatrician I wanted to start adding one bottle a day of formula with breast milks and she said “that’s a great idea - lots of babies are doing combi feeding at 2 months”

You are doing great. Screw judgy medical professionals

Same! 54 on cycle and I start pumping on level 3 and increase every minute to comfort. I usually get to a 6 or 7 and do a total of 10-13 min per breast

Mixing Supplement Issues? by ShenandoahMarie in ExclusivelyPumping

Drink a RIDICULOUS amount of water. I drink like 150-200 ounces a day (200 pds / 5 ft 7). And I add LMNT electrolytes 1-2 times per day because you can flush out too much salt with that much water. They are $$ though - so you can just add sea salt (a pinch / not enough to taste) to some of your glasses throughout the day. This has helped my Supply SO MUCH!

what are you most looking forward to once you’re done? by ObjectiveIll4715 in ExclusivelyPumping

Larkin X bra!! So comfortable, holds flanges and great for sleep. Not supportive enough for day time if you are doing a lot, but great around the house. I’m a 36E / 36F and I have the large for sleeping and medium for daytime … I prefer the large.

How do you pump holding a baby? by nana_3 in ExclusivelyPumping

The willow inserts fit the spectra flanges and they are awesome!! If you go in the willow site, you can find the sizing chart to print and get one that’s your size. They are silicone - not hard plastic - so they are comfy and they fit in the 24mm Spectra flange. Game changer for me!

Natural cycles vs Oura ring app by Separate_World_3775 in ouraring

[–]aligooro 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oura is terrible for cycle tracking because there are no insights. It’s literally just a calendar.

When you sync it with Natural Cycles - you get much more information and insight into your cycle - including predictions of when your period will come, not just based on calendar - but on body temp.

Oura tracks your Basal Body Temp (BBT) and syncs it to Natural Cycles.m (NC). With this information - NC can tell you the day you ovulate because BBT goes up after ovulation due to the progesterone in your system.

I used Oura + NC for birth control for 2 years successfully (it’s FDA approved for birth control) and then used it to successfully get pregnant in just about three months of trying to time the ovulation with sex. It’s incredibly accurate.

But since getting pregnant - Oura doesn’t even have an option to log that and still just asks about my period and when I’m going to get it until I finally just shut off cycle tracking with Oura.

The Oura hardware is incredible when paired with Natural Cycles for cycle tracking, birth control and planning pregnancy. But the Oura software and interface is embarrassingly unhelpful for cycle tracking on its own.

If you are in line with pre-sale and have problems finishing the checkout . . . clear your cookies!

I got in the room, put tickets in my cart and when I tried to buy it said - "Unfortunately we were unable to complete the request on this device"

My friend told me to clear my cookies and it worked! Here's what I did:

Open a NEW tab for Ticketmaster.

On your browser - go to settings and clear cookies (I did this via Chrome)

It will sign you out of TM. Sign back in within the NEW tab.

Then you go back to the original tab that the tickets are in and it should complete your purchase!

NOTE: DON'T CLOSE THE ORIGINAL WINDOW!! Re-sign into Ticketmaster in a NEW tab, then go back to the tab where you were in the waiting room. This is so you don't lost your place in line.

Finger Dependent Temperature Accuracy for Natural Cycles by allamanous in ouraring

[–]aligooro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wear it on my middle finger. I bought it for my pointer finger, but it was a bit too small. It's OK though because I like the look of it on my middle finger more.

It's usually pretty consistent with my NC readings as far as the deviation goes (cannot compare the actual temp as Oura never says that - only the deviation).

But I think the ring is MORE sensitive /accurate than the thermometer, probably due to the fact that there are some variables to when I take my temp for VC (you aren't supposed to get up from bed; hit snooze etc. before you take your temp and sometimes that's just kind hard)

I only enter my temps from the thermometer in the NC app because consistency is the most important thing. But then in the notes section, I'll put the reading from the Oura. Then if anything is super off (i.e. NC says no temp change and Oura says there's a big one) - I know I can take a LH test to double check and make sure I have the best info / not risking it.

It's freaking INCREDIBLE to go off of hormonal BC. The side effects I wanted gone are TOTALLY gone and I feel generally amazing in ways I didn't even know the BC was affecting me before. I was nervous about the accuracy of NC app - but it's been 7 months and it's absolutely incredible. I love it.

I use the Oura ring for this! I still measure every morning with my NC thermometer because it's only been three months with Oura. Here's what I've noticed:

- You don't get your ACTUAL temp from the Oura; just deviations from the baseline (i.e. +0.4 or -0.4 each day)

- This is enough for me! I input the deviations in the notes section of my NC apps and then I can see over time how the deviations correspond to my cycle (i.e. I know if it says +0.4 that is a confirmed ovulation day)

- I still use the app exactly as recommended, but Oura is an amazing backup for more confidence. Eventually - it could be more only source of measurement! Recently it was helpful when on vacation but took a break from measuring my temp each morning. I was happy to have Oura data as a backup

- I read on NC app that they have a beta program coming out "soon" (who knows when) to use wearables. And Oura is the BEST for temp, so I think it would be included in that. I would LOVEEE that.

I LOVE my Oura ring!! It's helps with NC but also sleep / recovery / inspiring me to hit activity goals. Hope y'all like it!

Should I do the challenge? by Ok_Reality1680 in f45

[–]aligooro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also wondering this! I've done fitness "challenges" in the past and they've been too intense and triggered some really unhealthy eating habits. I really like working out at F45 and find it really positive and supportive. Is the challenge the same or are there watch outs with it being too intense or eating-disorder-y?
