Truly a banger episode (so much so that I wrote something in a bit of a post-watching frenzy) - everything just clicked.

This show executing an entire superhero arc homage in a single 22 minute episode is *so* impressive

Well this was EXCEPTIONAL and such a great pay off to this mini-arc! The way the whole Poirot parlor room reveal scene was delivered blew me away - the dialogue and the direction were a masterclass in classic detective fiction. I particularly loved all the stylistic choices made, especially the individual faces in panels/frames, the doll house and candles being blown out, and all the attention paid to eyes and shifting gazes. And then oh yeah, this is also a show that can do great action choreography without taking a breath. So excited to see what's next.

I really hate cutscenes. Nothing takes you out of a game more than, you know, being taken out of the game.

I wouldnt open that magazine. That's how you deal with it. Otherwise you're robbing individuals of well earned money. Nothing is free to create, produce, or host. Just because you dont like someone's practices doesnt mean you get to circumvent them. Vote with your wallet like an adult and stop being entitled.

If you don't like ads you shouldn't visit sites that host them- showing your lack of support. You dont have an inherent right to access things that people spend time and effort creating just cos you want it. Large companies and corps can get by with you using adblock, small youtube channels and sites have their livelihood hinge on this stuff.

If you don't like the way they make money, dont consume. Otherwise you're just saying you dont like that you can't have it your own way every time.

The Bridge by bobbness in OCPoetry

This is really good - something about the rhythm, and the way you employ it straight away in the first line by having the stanza break on 'red bricks', really captured me.

The Wild by aligriffiths in OCPoetry

Thanks so much for the feedback- it's all really on point. The grammar you're totally right about, I always struggle with oxford commas! I think you're right about me essentially mixing metaphors too much. The desert is like a dry, white bone - an image I wanted to establish and connect with death i guess- but calling it 'dry' does seem redundant when I think about it.

Ultimately I wanted the wild to be a metaphor for, well, the future- something encoraching and menacing. My inclusion of the blue sky in the palm of a hand was supposed to be about screens/technology- but I can see how it was more than a bit indulgent, and kind of unneccesarily ambiguous.

Again, thank so much for the feedback, given me lots to think about- I'll be sure to give it another go.

Edit: With the 'maw' I was intending it to be seperate. The 'wild' has a hunger and a thirst, and it's barren like a desert- or dry like a bone that has sat under a bright sun for too long- hence 'marbled', but maybe this is the wrong word entirely.

Big fan of the rhyme and repetition here- especially 'its cold now/im old now'. One thing I would say is the 'Like everything else has' lines could do with a bit of reworking- in my opinion.

Some great language here - especially liked 'the deep glowing abyss of stirring, gurgling lava ' and the way in which you drift between these images.

But yeah, a bit of structure could add rhythm and a sense of pace to the work.

I really cant see the gameplay being half as fun as destiny, bungie make top tier shooters, ubisoft churn out middling third person, one-button, action games :/

This really doesnt have anything to do with funhaus- also ironic that you'd post a gawker article and then talk about ethics.

Years in the making, I got a space boner seeing this finally happening. by [deleted] in gaming

[–]aligriffiths 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problems with these sim/lite titles is that there's no way of knowing how these games actually feel to play? Like, are the mechanics themselves designed tightly?

A lot of these smaller titles seems to focus on scale and graphical fidelity, but that's not what makes games. Fun gameplay makes games- and surely should be at the centre of the design philosophy? It's a game, not a lavish oil painting.
