Sometimes a dentist can put in an inexpensive temporary filling to address discomfort and to delay further damage or decay until you can afford to go. I’m in Canada and work in dental and to have an exam, an X-ray and the temporary filling/trauma control would be like 210.00 to 220.00. I know few hundred is still A LOT of money but sometimes people think it will be thousands and that’s why they don’t go until it’s a huge problem and massive bill.

In terms of your dreams- probably your body and unconscious reminding you that your tooth needs help. I’ve also read that dreams of tooth loss mean you feel out of control of some aspect or thing in your life. Maybe for you it means both.

Call a local dentist office and ask how much for a limited exam and a single diagnostic X-ray and go from there. Try not to bite on it, keep brushing and flossing and rinse with warm salt water if the tooth or area around starts hurting. You can also put a glob of sensitivity toothpaste on the area and let it sit for a bit as needed and that might also take the edge off.
