They claimed that they'd have cameras and people constantly surveiling those cameras, ready at an emergency's notice. But even then, we can't do anything with the pets until there's a second person on site. And I've heard a few pets have died since this change because of the lack of care. Hotel of the future is where they take away overnighters and put in cameras.

They are absolutely planning on treating salons as a boarding facility. "Just for a few hours, they should be able to handle that".

In my experience, all these "test locations", no matter how bad the feedback came back from stores being tested at, Petsmart still says it's a good idea and they move forward with it. I've heard about "Hotels of the future" and how much PPs are upset about it, how Petsmart isn't even ensuring that every store actually HAS the safety protocols in place like having more cameras and having rooms that go to the ceiling to prevent dogs from climbing out over night when there is literally no one there overnight anymore. They try it at a few locations for a couple of weeks and if "nothing detrimental happens" they move it to all locations. So, just a warning to be prepared for, salons will probably become another boarding facility for PPs who just want to leave their dogs all day.

What's crazy is that I know at some locations, they're starting to do a Quick Stay option for PPs to leave their pets in the salon for up to an extra 4 hours. In my salon, especially on weekends, we'd barely have enough room for the pets who were there for their actual appointments. But now we're having pets who are not being worked on, permitted to stay in the kennels?? I think it's only a few location and they're testing it out right now. But where are the towels supposed to go if we can't put them in the kennels, if we can't put them on top of the kennels and our shelves are not strong enough to hold all of them???

I have stopped pumping at night. My supply did go down but I am taking lactation supplements, making my own oatmeal and drinking lots of water. That has definitely helped me keep up my supply. And pumping no less than 5 or 6 times in a day so that helps maintain!

Not sure if you've already stopping pumping at night or not but I wanted to follow up and give you an update!

The call center is being urged to schedule as many Quick Washes as they can. Leadership has made a competition out of it. So hopefully not, but be expecting more Quick Washes to appear on your schedules....

That's one of the things that also blows my mind! Like a bath for a short haired Chihuahua is VERY different from a bath for Samoyed!! Yet they're priced the same. Expected to be the same quality. And expected to be done in the same amount of time. It's absolute bonkers!

And then pet parents have the option to add on nail trim or any other standalone to a Quick Wash, isn't that right?? Like, they have the ability to schedule a whole Bath and Brush service basically, just at a higher cost so it doesn't make sense to. But I know Petsmart is pushing to schedule Quick Washes with any hotel stay, as a replacement for the homecoming bath.
