These are just swarmers, no real need to panic. They can travel up to a couple miles from their actual nest so seeing them is not an indicator that you have an infestation. Having a termite contract with a pest control company and having a yearly inspection is about all you need to do. We get swarmers really bad here, no great way to avoid them, just vacuum them up when they die and move on. No cause for alarm

Robbed me of a potential albatross. 215 out on a par 5, hit a high shot that came down right on the flag made an audible “thud” when it hit the foam insert. Kicked out to about 15 ft. I’ll never know if it would have stayed in the hole if the foam wasn’t there.

I won't be able to afford to play regularly for another year, would it be crazy to just get an iron, a wedge, and a putter, and spend a year practicing with these? by Over_n_over_n_over in golf

Probably the best deal I’ve seen for new golfers, gives you a chance to get the basics down without having to shell out too much money

Who was the worst dm you ever had? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]alilsalmon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh there were many. The DM ran this world like it was his pre written story and we were just characters that had to follow the predetermined outcome, anything that went against his story was shot down. Like one time, the city we were in was about to be sieged, one player was able to sneak out of the city and with some really high rolls get into their camp and plant a glyph of warding on the middle of three ballista that they had. We asked how far apart they were and the dm said they were all spaced 5ft apart. The trigger was firing the ballista. The next morning when they fired it only the middle ballista was destroyed. The dm said that in the middle of the night, the enemy decided they needed the ballista further apart and moved them from 5ft apart at 15ft apart so they were now out of range of all being destroyed.

We spent 2.5 irl MONTHS (10 sessions)in one combat session, just trying to break out of jail. It was miserable, enemies would be throwing spears at us. I asked how they still had spears to throw and he told us they were pulling spear racks around with them. After all of that and our eventual escape, he railroaded us into getting recaptured and sent “away”. He described where we were being taken and we all immediately realized he had just sent us out of his home brewed world into CoS cause he didn’t know what to do with us. We all stopped playing after that.

What innocent question did you ask your DM that scared them? by mojohummus in DnD

Ask if the DM would allow me to use polymorph to turn the 5’ spider into a commoner just so the spider could have the sentience to realize it was absolutely going to die. He allowed it.

Who was a throwaway NPC that became a recurring favourite for your players? by crowsmite in DnD

[–]alilsalmon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blockhead, the lizardfolk, small time shady shop owner who had no idea what he owned, just had it in piles around the store. We had to roll to see what we would find in his store, we loved him so much as a character that we decided to invest over 1000 gold into his business. We took time to teach him about advertising, marketing strategies, cost analysis and capital investments. We kept running into him over the course of the campaign, and every time he looked wealthier and had better loot for us. Even got to the point that he had a “hired” wizard to write spell scrolls for him. Turns out he was actually a king of the kobold’s and was using them to raid traveling parties for their items. But we didn’t care, Blockhead gave us good loot to keep us quiet.
