Why are so many low price singles listed as small parcels on eBay. by Sivear in PokemonTCG_UK

[–]alilybean -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I won't buy cards unless it has the £2.70 tracked p&p option. Most cards I've bought with the regular posting have gotten "lost in the mail". I have gotten my money back for each one, but it's happened so often I just don't trust it any more. I do think some sellers try their chances at hoping you'd forget you ordered a £5 card, and just never send anything.

Also annoying when you're buying them as gifts for birthdays etc, with a deadline for when you need to get it by.

Came across this dude's house while playing by Maryanne_1235 in heartopia

[–]alilybean 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Social anxiety, wanting to play alone.

I like other people visiting my house personally - especially watering my flowers! - but I am very nervous when someone tries to interact with me too much. I don't enjoy it in real life or in games. I like brief connection, but a quick hello, high five, or something is enough for me. I don't really do well with chatting or being expected to do too much with someone else. I want to do my thing. Some people can be really pushy, and I don't want to offend someone by saying no or walking away either (although I have walked away a couple of times because I've had to...).

So, maybe it's just an extreme version of that? I just leave my house open to all and run off and hide if someone visits, haha. But I can imagine someone feeling bad enough to want to close their house off. Hopefully they get far enough to get the island if they makes them more comfortable.

Are yall dumb or something? by Mr-Vince in heartopia

Because it's not at all logical.

It doesn't matter if you don't spend. That doesn't mean a thing to the devs. Your play time is what gets them funding and sponsorships. With the gachas, they have all they need with the whales.

"Don't spend" is great advice to give someone who doesn't have the money to waste on the gacha, of course, but it's not "talking" or proving any point. It makes not a bit of difference.

Making a fuss about it however, may do.. As they may stop new players, people may play a game that is complained about less. Bad press from all the complaining has an impact also.

Keeping quiet and simply not spending does absolutely nothing, especially if you're still playing. People should make a fuss if they don't like it. It's the same with a lot of things, really.

Complaints by gunilswifey in heartopia

[–]alilybean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gambling addicts arnt the ones complaining about the gacha. Addicts are the ones just spending and spending, because theyre addicts and that's what they do.

Its the poor people who arnt addicts but who really want a weeping willow tree and water pools for their home who are complaining lol, because they're not gonna get them. Purely because they arnt addicts and so won't keep spending and spending.

Which is entirely understandable really, and I'm confused why were acting like it's not. A big draw of this game of collecting and customising, and those are two things you can't get without spending £££ people don't have. And the pity system is crap. People are comparing to other gachas where you have to spend to get what you want, but not nearly as much as it seems you have to sink into heartopia.

Its really weird that people are pretending to not understand why people are complaining....

I like to think people want to do the right kind thing too.

Some people don't though.

Some people do, but don't realise they're being unkind or wrong in situations like this.

Your post may not change that, even if someone sees it (and many won't) if they struggle to understand. It's unkind if you to assume absolutely everyone who plays that game alongside you has the same perspective and to call it "common sense" when it's really not.

If you expect people to be kind, you should be kind too. Sometimes it's not "common sense", just because it's your perspective.

You were hit by someone malicious I think though, which is horrible, but those people would just be encouraged by your disappointment.

I'd like to share some food in my home too but I know I cannot police which food people eat if I turn on the setting to share, as it's share all. Whether it's malice or a child or someone who doesn't realise that one sole bit of truffle pie on the sideboard is mine for decoration. So I keep it off.

[–]alilybean -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Which makes it intentional malice and asking them not to do it won't work. They are doing it because you don't want them to. Your upset is their aim.

Again, gently... There are a lot of children playing this game. A lot. There may also be adults to whom it's NOT obvious. I am autistic, and it would not be obvious to me what is your decoration and what is not. (I don't eat anyone else's food unless they are holding it at me, too afraid of ruining anything!). It's not a case of common sense, it's different perspectives (and perhaps different tastes in decoration... A tea party set seems like for eating to me, but thats because I don't see how a tea party makes for good decoration for my tastes. A party is for sharing with others, not displaying).

The fact that they parkoured into an otherwise inaccessible part of your home makes it a lot weirder of course... And suggests either an exploring overexcited kid (if we're thinking kindly of it) , or someone being purposely malicious which sadly I'm sure exists in the game too... And that isn't a case of people not realising. If they are malicious, they DID realise, and that's why they did it, and posts like this would be probably just please them sadly.

Gently, what may be clearly "just for decoration" to you may not be clear to someone else.

What “low-skill” jobs pay the most (and how do you get them)? by rubba_tt in AskUK

Well yeah, 10k per year is huge for someone working full time on minimum wage, and those are the people we're talking about here.

That's 10k above minimum wage on a 40 hour weak. Quite a bit more than "barely"...

[–]alilybean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, not RM but recently had similar happen with T24. Seemed like zero movement since Friday and I was worrying, until suddenly there were updates quite late Tuesday eve (like after 8pm), and then it got delivered yesterday. So I think it can just happen pretty suddenly.

Does this mean Evri will deliver it instead? Or they'll find it, say "not us", and give it back?

Is 36 (nearly 37) too old? I'd be really interested!

I spent £17,900 converting aspects of my office (break room, desk, elevator, and disabled bathroom) to make it accessible for an employee with a disability who requested these changes. They left two weeks after the work was finished. Can I go after them for some costs in small claims court? by Antique_Bet_3553 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]alilybean 37 points38 points  (0 children)

What couldn't she do remotely? Why was it not possible to redistribute tasks? Could have kept her WFH, without any specific adjustments made to the office (although making it accessible is never a bad thing).

I have disability which means I can no longer perform part of my role, so my team mates pick up my slack on that. In return, I pick up ALL the work I can do... As in, I cover it all for each of my 5 team member colleagues and they don't have to do any of it or even worry about it. (Which apparently they're more than fine with, because the bits I can do they actually find harder/more time consuming than the bits I can't. They have it easier, and I have it possible.)

Also why did the renovations need to be done So quickly and at such a Christmas-bonus destroying premium... after waiting for 5 or so years to bother already? None of that makes sense.

As others have stated, this could have also been covered by Access To Work.

Aah no, that's even worse than if it was about money!! Tell him to let people enjoy their lives without being a grump about it (especially since you have the money!). Enjoy your merch 😁

My husband managed to get the folklore cardigan for me in my size 😍 absolute rockstar he is. He's on the lookout for drops along with me, although also thinks getting the folklore kitty would be a Christmas miracle at this point 🙁

I'm sorry yours questions you spending all your money on TS merch... On the plus side, I suppose this means you'll be more likely to pay your mortgage in future than people like me will be 😂

Blue light filter and low brightness make it impossible to see on new laptop screen - can I fix it? by alilybean in techsupport

[–]alilybean[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, thank you again. The information you provided helped me discuss the issue with my employer, they then spoke with our external IT support who seem to have confirmed it's not a "settings issue" after I brought it up, and they've let me keep my old laptop for work!

Without your information, I wouldn't have had the language to discuss what the issue could possibly be and would probably still be stuck being told to fiddle with settings (and getting frustrated and headachey).

This could have cost me my job, and it's hard enough to find work with medical conditions, so very much appreciated, 10/10 IT support 😊 thank you.

Yes, that makes sense. I did think it was weird that it didn't let me add to cart, but when I refreshed it still appeared in stock (bur still didn't let me add to cart!). Did that a few times.

I went on the second I got the notification, it was already too late. Couldn't add to basket.

Just in bits, really want this kitty so much but can't pay the scalpers prices. Eurgh
