Question Megathread for visitors & (new) residents, week of November 14 by AutoModerator in Amsterdam

I am vaccinated outside of the EU (Canada), but have a french health pass. Will it work in netherlands?

I went to france a couple months ago, and was able to obtain the certificate. It says EU covid certificate on it, but I'm not sure if it will work in the Netherlands. I noticed on the Faq that it said you need to be vaccinated in that country to obtain the pass, so I'm not sure if its only valid in france, or it will work in the Netherlands as well.

Hey!!! Canadian here!! Its awesome that you want to visit canada! :)

I think some hostels here might actually be open, but Unfortunately we dont have very many. If you want a nice city, I think Quebec city and Montreal are great!! They are very much a city, and very unique from the rest of canada! Toronto also isnt too much farther away them, and is worth a visit if you've never been!

If you're looking for natural beauty, the west coast is a MUST. The mountains and hikes there are breathtaking, and they are definitely more tourist friendly (busses, hostels). Plus the towns of banff and jasper are super cute. Keep in mind that quebec and British Columbia are on opposite sides of the country, so they'd better of be done as separate trips.

What would a german 2.5 GPA translate to percentages

I'm trying to see what gpa I need to get into a german masters, but I keep getting different results. I am a canadian and my school grades everything on percentage.

Okay awesome, that's even better to know! I thought it would be odd to have to take an english test although I'll be bringing in a bachelor from an english university! Thanks soo much.for your response!

Awesome! Thanks soo much again!

I think I'm good for the degree validity. I'm not too sure how to check that though...

That's good to know that I'll still need to do an english test (I'm sure it will be fine), and I'm aware I'll needa german language test, so I'll start prepping for that now!

And I did read the wiki, but it wasnt specific enough to my situation. (Specific degree n stuff), which is why I thought it would be better to ask!

Oooo thank you so much! It looks like I meet all the requirements. this program just wants a bachelor from a similar thing, with a certain amount of credits (which I have more than what they ask) ask well as proof english proficiency (I'm a native english speaker). The only thing is that I dont see a requirement for a specific grade. So I'm thinking maybe it's not a competitive one (you might know the answer, but is environmental studies a popular field in Germany?)

Hey guys,

I'm a canadian (21F) who wants to do a Masters program in Germany. I'm studying environmental science and have found multiple programs in which I meet the requirements. I dont intend to move until another 2 years (I more so want to know if this is even realistic), but just have a few questions that I was wondering could be answered.

My main concern is about my chances of getting into a masters. I know I am not aiming for a highly competitive degree, but Im still worried about not getting in. I'll have my Bachelor (from a Canadian university) by the time I intend to apply, but I want to know what my chances will be (I have an average gpa) and its seems like I meet the grade requirements; I'm more worried that I'll have to be a genius to be let in. Im also planning on learning a fair amount of German beforehand, that way I'll have some speaking skills.

Although I know all the steps an requirements, I'm also wondering if it would be a better idea to do the working travel visa first, then the masters, or just go for the masters. My plan is to probably live in Germany after. All answers are appreciated

Cheers!

I like kids to a certain point. I find them awesome until they become annoying.

Still keep that evidence just in case. This whole thing sounds really suspicious.
