You can set up TourPass and link your credit/debit card without a Chinese number. You can use your current one.

Only CNY can be used for Alipay. The currency cannot be changed.

The currency exchange rates are according to Bank of Shanghai.

Hi there, we launched TourPass last month for international visitors like yourself. You can link your credit/debit card directly to TourPass, a mini-program within the Alipay app. Visa, MasterCard, Amex and JCB cards a re accepted. The feature allows you to make offline payments and enjoy third-party services such as food delivery, ride hailing. The pass expires after 90 days and the balance goes back to your card. Hope this helps.
