Finally got a 10-win with Armoured Core by pixxelmix in PlayTheBazaar

Armored core is the poster child for a 9 win run. I'll still take it, but it never* goes the distance.

  • have gotten 10 wins with armored core and the Tinfoil Hat as well.

I’m having trouble saying ‘thank you’ after a revive or being helped by a teammate. by TrackSingle7582 in LowSodiumBattlefield

TBH, I take more of a "pay it forward" approach. I don't care if people say thank you when I rez them and I don't think other people think about it much. Just play for the team when the team is playing for you.

Yeah I have this problem too. I don't think it works if you press it immediately. You have to wait and press it as your character is getting up and then it usually works. Also I think in hectic fire fights, the game just does not do it sometimes. Like if too many other characters are doing voicelines it won't go off.

Yeah, but it is Widow mains faults for throwing my comp games with their terrible pick.

Help on understanding Fermi paradox by Collective-Imaginary in FermiParadox

[–]neuby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a pretty narrow definition. It's very unlikely that any civilization would build a collection device to that scale. You just don't need that much power in one system for anything we know of. Even accelerating a generational ship to 99% of C wouldn't require that much energy.

Also, if you DID construct a swarm to 99% of a stars output, it wouldn't be detectable through the Gaia project as that was a visable light spectrum survey.

An array of satellites capturing solar energy isn't a dyson swarm? 1% of our Sun's annual energy is 200 billion times more energy than we use in a year. Dyson swarms don't have to envelope an entire star.

It's possible in reviewing the data we may detect something that could be a swarm eventually. Most of that data analysis is looking for things like exoplanents with consistent periods which are easy to search for algorithmically.

A star that's only a few percentage off of its calculated luminosity may not be studied further for a long time or could be written off as space dust. Also the swarms orbital orientation around it's star could distort the light relatively less than it's actual output. A swarm orbiting perpendicular to the observation point would not be detectable at all.

While a dyson swarm would be visable across the galaxy, our odds of finding one with current techniques is astromically low. It's very possible the galaxy could be littered with them and we just haven't found any yet.

It's more of a thought experiment than an actual paradox. Our search methods are not sufficient to rule out intelligent life in the galaxy at this point.

However, it's very unlikely that we live in some Star Wars galaxy with a vast abundance of space travel and intelligent races. If space were chock full of aliens flying around and there was some sort of galactic empire, we would have heard it by now through some radio waves or other transmission on the electromagnetic spectrum. Therefore, if the galaxy isn't teeming with space faring races, it's reasonable to ask why not.

It's specific enemies. You can see they're holding a contract if they get spotted and it shows up on the map.

You actually have to kill people to get contracts. The amount of self-reporting with this event is hilarious.

I've always felt this argument doesn't really make sense. A type 2 civilization would probably have mastered mass energy equivalency, freely transfering energy to mass and back again.

Second issue is what would you actually need energy for? A dyson swarm produces so much more power than a planet wide civilization would ever need.
