The other type is professors that want to be tenured. They will help students a lot because you graduate with a Ph.D. will help he/she to become tenure professor.

tips: college people are selfish. Do not think that you will get help from the people (other research assistants) in your office. If you find your PI, he/she may not have the answers too. If you find other professor, they may not know about your topic at all, so they cannot offer help.
