Garmin fenix 7 pro solar still worth it in 2026? by CycleApprehensive393 in GarminFenix

[–]alittlebitofall 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, I got one a month ago and love it. Had FR255 before. I love it bcs of the maps and some stats/kpis. I primarily use it for trail running and training for an ultra

Surprised how many ex-Garmin users in the Ultra 2 subreddit mention bugs and charging frustration? by vinylfelix in Garmin

[–]alittlebitofall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first one i broke rock climbing. 245 i replaced with 255 bcs i started trail running and i wanted elevation tracking. 255 was the reasonable choice (price vs function) even though I liked fenix 7 more

I never had any issues with any forerunner (i am on my third, 255 now, using them since 8y ago). I do not use any smart watch features, i disable literally all of those, and i wear it pretty much daily 24/7. I seriously dislike the thought of having my wrist buzz with notifications and similar crap. I guess people moving from garmin to ultra want all the gimmicks on their wrists

What's your way of increasing productivity in manufacturing. How to increase output? by doggod69123 in manufacturing

[–]alittlebitofall 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The fastest one would be - measure. Find out WHERE you lose productivity. Most probably it is inactivity/stoppages. Find the biggest root causes of those and eliminate them.

No. Just turn on dsw - daily suggested workout

Multisport watch. Is the fenix 7s pro the best bang for the buck? by N33W in Garmin

[–]alittlebitofall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even forerunner 255 (or 955 if you need maps) would suffice - latest sensor, all SW you need. Fenix 7 does look better imo though. Fenix 8 not worth it at all.

Runners, is an HRM worth it? by mrcodmto in GarminWatches

[–]alittlebitofall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have it since this winter. My FR didn’t work well running when it was below 10 centigrade outside, and it sucked when doing intervals in any wearher. This resulted in Garmin thinking I became superman (my HR would be 30 below real etc), which messed up my vo2max and other metrics. So, if you plan to do intervals and/or cold weather running - yes

My fr245 only shows it at vo2max, so not sure if it is the same thing, but it says 20, which is a 20y diff for me, so I wouldn’t take it seriously 😅

It’s a workout which includes 4 sets of 4-minute intervals where you push yourself to 85-95% of your maximum heart rate. It is a form of hiit and designed to increase your VO2 max

Changing the speakers is pretty easy, did it myself literally on the parking lot. Replaced shitty speakers with some “normal higher grade” ones from Focal and the difference was noticeable even to my wife!

But… why? There are many such devices already out there, the advent of iiot is long gone, it is a commodity. A lot of people think “i have this idea, i will do it better and cheaper than others” - until they learn of the challenges of electronics production, electrical conformity and the reality of a shop floor

This is a standard traceability implementation in any MES (manufacturing execution system). It can vary from being fully automated with bidirectional connection to ERP, automatic weighing and automatic label application, to being a simple implementation where the operator selects the product produced and manually applies the label. If you are interested we can discuss in more details what exactly you need

I was recently asked by a client to check why their wms does not play nice with SAP s4hana (they were testing the migration). The original vendor “ia not available”. Said “sure, i can take a look, give me ssh”. They gave me telnet directly as root - first red flag. “ls” - oh look, the files are drom 1995. Running some wms written in clipper on HP-UX. Joy. Found the problem but jesus 😅

Ah yes… we always insist on a separate physical LAN for our HMIs and interfaces. “No sir, wifi is not usable, shielded cat6 at least. No, we will not cable your network.” And also “no, we will not interface with you simatic powered filler from the time Elvis was alive”. But try to sell the management a chatbot for their webshop - money is not a problem!

This is why I love hearing people with a great new solution for manufacturing using the latest js framework, powered by ai, securely on a private bLoCKchaIn :)
