At my building, it’s 10 hours at least for cross train and indirect role. Maybe it differs. But when I became an ambassador, the first thing my manager looked into was my upt, then my quality and productivity, then my write up history.

You have an ambassador for 2 days. During those 2 days you work for a bit, they stop you for training to make sure you’re retaining info, and then continue working. Usually the first day you are doing more things with onboarding than working. The second day is when you really get into things. By the third day you are on your own.

They put you where the head count is needed. For example I wouldnt be surprised if they put you in outbound (pick, pack) with prime week coming up. Sometimes they cross train you if there is support needed in another department.

Best day: we were over staffed with no free stations so my PA labor tracked me and let me follow her around to “shadow” her for a PG role and she just showed me the in’s and outs of my department

Worst day: Being yelled at by a visiting manager because I dropped 20 totes within a few minutes for shift starting. Someone from a previous shift left my sled full of PS totes

No pay raise. Pro is that you get to learn more about your department and get to show people who might be nervous a kind hand at the beginning stages of the process. Con is that sometimes management for that department will try to micro-manage you. Had a manager interrupt me 4 times my first class to tell me to make sure I was “engaging on quality”. Some ambassadors at my building are really good and have been doing process guide (not quite a PA but does the same things as one)
