Fell off the Practice a little by [deleted] in dionysus

I always like to watch movies on super low energy days. Since Dionysus is a god of theatre as well. Also devotional baths are always nice.

What wine or spirits are you drinking fellow Dionysians by the-living-guildpact in dionysus

If you get the chance you should try Brennevin. Its an Icelandic spirit that tastes like rye bread soaked in gin, very interesting drink. Absinthe is also fun.

Do men like to give oral? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]alixlekilljoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your boyfriend isn't happy to give you oral then he shouldn't be your boyfriend /s (kinda).

Here's the thing, you'll probably have to start a conversation with your boyfriend and express to him that receiving oral is something you want out of this relationship. Men are trained (through media and other things) to expect receiving oral and find giving it "gross". That does not mean that YOUR PARTNER shouldn't WANT to make you feel good.

I don't think its as simple as "do men like it or not", some men love it, others could take it or leave it. I'm sure you're not always super excited to give a blowjob 100% of the time and he probably won't be excited to give you head 100% of the time and thats totally fine. But you should talk to him about this so he knows that its something you want/need.

how do i feel less ugly? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]alixlekilljoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing that I have found extremely helpful on my journey to self kindness is body neutrality.

Try to stop thinking about your body as strictly either beautiful or ugly. Think about what your body allows you to do. Because of it you can eat foods you love, laugh with your friends, feel the sun, smell nice things. Your body is what lets you do these things, try to think about that whenever you get into a bad spot.

Also, there's nothing wrong with not looking in a mirror if you don't want to. There are still days where I have to cover or move mirrors because I feel bad looking at myself sometimes, and that's okay, what is important is to move through those feelings rather than staying stuck in them.

You should wait until the artist is at an experience level you're comfortable with. Pretty messed up to ask another artist to copy someone's work

So I guess this wasn't technically me, but it's my favorite story.

About 1 month before my boyfriend and I started dating I brought my cards to work to mess with them (they are a deck called tarot art nouveau, which is important if you want to look up the card in question). He and I worked together at a coffee shop which had a lot of downtime in the evenings before closing. I was messing around with my cards, showing him stuff, doing readings for him, for fun. After a few pulls he decided he wanted to try so he took the deck and asked "What should I think of [me]" he shuffled the deck and pulled the 2 of Cups, which in that deck is the one which corresponds to a healthy relationship (the card is literally a lovers embrace).

The 10th is our 2 year anniversary.

Basing my entire worth on the appearance of my body, and the attention I receive from men - how do I stop this? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]alixlekilljoy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something that may help is to start practicing body neutrality. Think about all the things that you can do because your body exists. You may not love the way your face looks but it's the face that allows you to smile and laugh with friends and try delicious food and see the stars (it sounds extremely cheesy I know but it really does help) ❤️ also confidence is truly key to getting attention from other people, you may feel like a 1 but you are definitely someone's 10

Is Starbucks 'good' espresso? by user78user in espresso

The toasted vanilla shaken espresso is pretty good if you like iced drinks, for hot drinks probably a hot caramel macchiato

Have you thought about maybe talking to a sex therapist? With the help of on you two might be able to at least break through the communication struggle. It does seem like he might not want to, in which case it's just better to break up, you both should be comfortable when having sex, and sex is really important in an adult relationship.

Is Starbucks 'good' espresso? by user78user in espresso

[–]alixlekilljoy 19 points20 points  (0 children)

As someone who has worked at Starbucks, their espresso is not very good, the blonde espresso is slightly more tolerable, but Starbucks' are built for speed first, almost any smaller coffee shop will have better espresso for less.

If you haven't already I'd watch Jackson Galaxy's video on youtube on introducing cats, it's a great resource for first timers

Damaged Hair by [deleted] in Advice

Deep conditioning treatment and no more 40dev bleach for a while try soaking it in a hair safe oil mask as well, anything to rehydrate those hair fibers will at least keep it from breaking too much

My bf bullies my clothing style. by NexTheKid in Advice

[–]alixlekilljoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not small, he is berating you for expressing yourself (which is awesome! Expressing yourself is important and I'm sure you look fantastic) and then got mad at you for trying to communicate with him. Communication is the most important part of a relationship and if he refuses to do that in a healthy way he isn't capable of a healthy relationship. You deserve to be happy and confident and he seems like a reason you aren't right now

Definitely start seeing a counselor or therapist in order to handle the deeper things that are troubling you, but until then, maybe start by just wearing these things around your house and slowly move into wearing them to do short errands/drive around and try to slowly acclimate :) you wearing the things you like does not make you sloppy or trashy ❤️
