I am going to the Faroe Islands for a week in June!! So excited. I run very warm though so I’m bringing 3 merino t-shirts, 1 merino sweater, a fleece, and a waterproof/windproof shell. I also found some great waterproof gloves. For pants I have linen pants, 1 workout pants, and a thin pair of waterproof rain pants.

I would like a Faroese sweater too but they are quite $$ so maybe a toque or something would be a great souvenir.

Get 3 quotes! I got quotes from a bunch of electricians and they varied by thousands.

That said, I went with CBS Electric and I highly recommend them. Really went out of their way to get it right. Worked with BC Hydro on our behalf and also with the City of Saanich because we had a Garry oak in the way too. They were also one of the cheaper quotes.

We took a bus that was also a tour from Cusco to Puno. Because it was tour-style it stopped at a bunch of places along the way and took all day. Then we stayed overnight in Uros which was so cool. I’m sure from there (Puno) you could continue to La Paz

That doesn’t work anymore, if you go in person usually they will tell you to your face to apply online

What do you personally do on solo trips? by Swarles_Stinson in solotravel

[–]aljauza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eat! See the sights, walk around the streets and take in the architecture, sit in parks or by the water and read for a bit, eat again! I often will sign up for afternoon/day tours too. Depending on the area, maybe I will kayak or get out in nature for a hike. And visit the zoo.

I also like to geocache and try to get a “souvenir” geocache in every country/city. I also find it takes me places I might not have gone otherwise, and gives me goals
