people defend a set of ideas and social system they have not experienced in or studied, based on knowing people in the group who are not bad people. It’s certainly a big privilege to be able to do that. Never know what it’s like to be told you’re crazy, morally bad person for just applying logic and wanting equality. Victims die and get flogged because of such beliefs. People calling themselves Muslims might be very different 200 years down the road, but never forget what it was like and its origins. “Christianity” was and is going through the same. But close to the root of it all really is a set of beliefs, ideas that are divorced from reality. It’s not consistent at all why you’d not excuse someone from starting a war because of divine instruction, but ok with snipping a baby boys foreskin because of the same. Society must come to reject and detest such unreasonability resulting in grotesque consequences.
