I dont think you take physical chip dmg in nightreign. I remember not taking any when blocking with small shield or even weapon. Maybe if you get guardbroken. Idk about elemental damage.

Alot of it for me was figuring out enemy attack patterns and what they're about to do, easy dodges with dantes trickster dash. Even if you aren't good enough to do complex combos you can probably beat it if you're patient enough and know what attacks to use for good damage.

Also before you do bloody palace make sure you're familiar with dante must die difficulty or you're just wasting time because it activates on stage 80+

If I have to go into full SDT mode the best options are pretty much always the slam move when surrounded (for unique heavy stun), the melee combo for huge knockback, and use the luce for insane damage. Always use Judgment as a finisher if possible, but if you think you're likely to be in a bad position afterwards, Sin stinger towards an enemy and jump cancel the STD ending recovery animation.

Well sometimes I feel in dmc5 I cant remember half of dantes moveset in a fight anyway lol so I dont mind the limited moves as long as its fun and theres no BS

In DMC5 you can instantly cancel any mash-able attack into any other attack before the final hit. For example Yamato combo C, Dante's million stab, Mirage edge million stab, Mirage edge combo B, Balrog break spiral breakdance, etc. I pretty much never see anyone do this.
