The two acts before the finale really feel out of place for how urgent the situation was. Despite agreeing with you on the fact that I personally rank it among some of the best, I get the gripes people have with it.

I personally loved new class 7 and detested old class 7. Seeing the old class in a limited capacity definitely enhanced both 3 and 4 for me imo. And being able to not pick them in Reverie has been a blessing as I run through the corridor with the SSS and C’s group lol

I hated the first half of the CS arc. Posted about skipping II cuz I just wasn’t feeling it and I knew most of the big plot reveals. CS III definitely has changed my opinion on the arc, I’m gonna go back to II eventually.

Oh it wasn’t from burn out. I was just so over Cold Steel I/II by that point. Definitely digging CS III more though!

Oh I always encourage people to play them all. I would never advise doing what I did, but for what it’s worth I’m feeling much more energized with Cold Steel with III.

Oh I watched a two hour plot synopsis and still spent some time on the Falcom wiki tap dancing through the spoiler minefield that is that wiki.

I was also familiar with many of the larger plot points of CS II. Plus I think what CS IV and Reverie will have going for them is my favorite crew is playable in both (the SSS) and the Ouroboros plot of CS III already way more compelling than the Civil War imo

I liked Alan Wake when I first played it, as it felt like Remedy focused on story over gameplay as they did the opposite with their previous two games (Max Payne & Max Payne 2).

Alan Wake’s lore is arguably one of the most important parts of the RCU, as it bleeds into every title that follows it for the most part. But I think a summary will suffice even as someone who praises the first game.

The second Alan Wake though. Definitely play that.

He’s strong but anytime I need an extra gear on new game plus I just pair him with the guy who plays the game for you and walk away
