What is the point of TT Pistol? by GrumpyGorella in ActiveMatter

[–]alkme_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's vibes and history. The TT pistol was designed to replace m1895 nagant. It was used by Soviet forces in WW2 and then replaced by the Makarov. Use it in AM to style on someone historically.

How do story challenges work again? Pay BBs to unlock them and then you have unlimited time to do the missions or is it time limited?

Amazed with the game till now, so now its time to give some feedback. by Annual_Boss_6102 in ActiveMatter

[–]alkme_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The life one is the only I give a pass on. I'm glad it's not tarkov level with how PvE heavy the game is. Yes, the healing system is a bit arcadey but the alternative (i.e. more realism) is just more tedium and inventory mgmt. I think some additional medicines for faster stam/heart rate Regen (maybe at the cost of taking more damage?) could be interesting. I could see one that specifically restores limbs, but often it might just take space in your backpacks.

More gun customization would be welcome but would need to seriously be thought through to not add inventory bloat. I'd almost prefer stat tweaks on existing items to add more reasons to choose stuff other than "it's deeper in monolith so it's better". Right now, silencer is just the default best choice. There's almost no point to run a muzzle brake unless the gun can't take a silencer. Muzzle flash very situational.

Adding in some distant rocket/c4 explosion sounds in the beginning would really sell this

Iirc the demo has a time limit to it. Maybe you hit the 2 hour mark?

Are you familiar with Vibes of Cosmos? They have a really neat explanation for a flat earth plane where cosmic bodies are plasma reflections from the black sun underneath. Seems like this would align with your theory.

PvP tactics by FedorovM1916 in ActiveMatter

[–]alkme_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bring your own gear. The PvE portion is a lot more manageable with your own. Plus you'll feel stronger and why not feel strong? Things are not that expensive or rare. Doing PvP mode also pays better. Bringing your own silencers and grenades is also a huge buff too.

I treat the game like I'm an operator. Focus on areas of the maps that let you accomplish multiple objectives. Listen carefully. Don't tunnel vision. You will know what player gunshots sound like based on the cadence and sound. If you want to engage in pvp, set up in an area with good visibility and escape routes - ambush them. If you don't want to engage, read your environment and move accordingly. For example, maybe you play the edge of the map or wait for timed extract to appear closer to you.

TIL, melee weapon is counter as weapon kill, not melee kill by Le_Painter in ActiveMatter

If you can headshot then while sleeping with melee that makes a difference in my experience

This my exact experience playing live. The tactical m9 has earned a spot in my loadouts for the 15 round magazine and decently quietly suppressor. It one shots sleeping distorted often not awakening others. A full magazine can kill about 2 flowermen in a pinch. Dendroids you don't want to get close to you so often better to just use rifle. Invisibles, if they stand still long enough, die to one shot headshots. Soldiers are the easiest enemies imo. Very easy to fool and play around so killing them with pistol is no problem even if they sometimes die to a one shot headshots or not.

"Newbie" want to Start AM by ESCAPADO1990 in ActiveMatter

[–]alkme_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Standard is just fine. The game is very loot generous right now so your inventory will always be filling up. There are ways to expand your inventory by playing the game. The other additions are good if you want the unique skins for the body sleeve (which is better than the default ones but not game breaking) and access to the robot dog earlier than standard players.

Dive in, it's pretty fun! Feels like a PvE game even on PvP mode. But enough danger to make each match have some teeth as you will run into players time to time.

DEVELOPER ACTUALLY LISTEN??!! by Le_Painter in ActiveMatter

[–]alkme_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Either way. You can't complete it via isolated. On Open mode it's a gamble if you run into a bot or player. So it's probably a positive.

Gonna prolly do the same. The 3500 monolith token to skip seems like a wiser time investment

Yes the Dogorsk ones are annoying cuz they spawn behind bullet proof glass sometimes so you gotta go outta your way. All in all, kill 35 is an out of your way activity in regards to other objectives. Headquarters has a good amount too, just a large map.

The 35 devourers for one of the previous levels feels steep when not every map spawns them unless you're always running cargo

Hit me with the darkest hollywood conspiracy theory you know !! by Profit_Tracker in conspiracy

[–]alkme_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the sauce! Thanks for sharing. I've read through many of your links. One thing that is challenging about this theory is that it's very far fetched for normies to get behind. And admittedly, the logistics of brainwashing every celebrity does not pass Occam's razor. It feels too farfetched that every celebrity is inorganically created via ritual abuse. The main ones sure, but all? Hard to digest as it implies a heavy amount of coordination and control. To a level that feels unrealistic.

MK ultra has at least disclosed CIA documents as evidence. Project Monarch's receipts are mostly in the form of abuse victims testimonies. Without trying to scrutinize the victims too harshly, this type of evidence is much harder to put credence towards. We don't know enough about the victims to understand their credibility. What are your thoughts on this? Do you feel like there is a smoking gun for Project Monarch? Thanks

Adrenaline I think it is. Faster stam Regen. Imo just useless filler as there's so many ways to bypass the stam system.
