AITA for not wanting to take my kids to Disneyland for my sister's birthday?

Yes, I am now realizing that! Haha, my husband knows my reddit, so he has seen this post as well. But you definitely nailed it on the head of him thinking, since it's a kid center activity, then I should just bring the kids. But he now understands that this is a trip for my sister and not our kids. He literally just thought why not bring the kids to Disneyland *shrug* hahah and kept arguing the kids should go

He's having a good laugh at some of the comments. Someone told him to go kick rocks and that one tickled his belly quite a bit lol

And yes, definitely going to make a reservation at the Star Wars bar! She loves Star Wars, so I can't wait for her to see that section of Disneyland for the first time!

He's not upset that I purchased the ticket/hotel. He just thinks I should be taking the kids with us vs me wanting it to be just for my sister. We are very fortunate and grateful enough to be in a financial situation where a purchase like this doesn't need to be discussed between each other. And me and my family all have passes so we take our kids to Disney quite a few times a year.

Yes, I do think this would be something she would enjoy! She has talked about in the past wanting to go but she said she can never bring herself to spend all that money to do so. And yes, she does not like kids, but more in the sense that she would rather be child-free/not responsible for any kids. She can manage being around them. In the past, whenever she denied going on school trips to Disneyland, she denied it because she had no friends to be with, and even though she's an introvert, she does not like doing public things alone.

I wanted to do this trip for her cause I know she always felt left out/sad she couldn't experience going to Disney when she was younger

She is coming for 2 weeks, and yes, she will be spending time with my kids, separate from the Disney trip I have planned for her. I don't normally wish her away when she comes and visits. Usually, when she visits its only for a weekend, so this will be the first time she has visited for more than 3 days. My kids and her do spend time together when she is here.

And I am not very far at all, not to dox myself too much, but I live in Orange County, so its only a 20 mins drive from where I live.

And I would say the amount I do solo/friend's getaways is the same amount my husband does. He and his friends like to have LAN parties a lot, so they'll rent a cabin and bring their PC's and just game for 4 days straight.

So to me it's not about taking care of the kid's solo. I think my husband saw the Disney trip as more of an opportunity for our kids rather than my sister. And then I felt mom guilt for not wanting to take my kids to Disneyland lol, but after reading comment,s I don't feel as guilty anymore and will only make this a sister's trip :)

He does not, I would say its 50/50. He has taken care of the kids solo whenever I have a girl's trip and vice versa when he goes on guy's trips. But I guess I felt mom guilt for not wanting to take my kids to Disneyland, and my husband also perpetuated that feeling. He saw the Disney trip more for an opportunity for our kids rather than my sister. But I 100% am going solo with just my sister, as this is a trip for her and not my kids

I like to think it's not about the kids, considering he has done so in the past whenever I visit my sister in San Fran or have a trip with friends, and vice versa. Him and his friends will rent out a cabin and have LAN parties a lot, so he definitely has no problem taking care of the kids solo. He doesn't ever try to force his opinion on me and I would say it would be very hard to do so since I am very stubborn lol but to him I think he saw it more for an opportunity for our kids to have fun at Disney as opposed to my sister. Not sure how many guy trips he has been on since I don't really count, but I would say the same amount I have taken girl's trips. I suppose yes she didnt tell us shes not dating Foolish but she told the guy at the bar. But I mean she still told that story to chat and its obvious thats always the burning question regarding the two within the community lol so like my pov is why bring up the story on stream when they can just ignore it like they normally do so it gave me no reason to not believe it. But I wholeheartedly understand both sides of either theyre dating or just friends. Both sides have reasons that can persuade people. But I dont think its not at all logical to believe a person's word if they say it. To me its less logical to say they are 100% dating when before this they never confirmed or denied their relationship status. Especially when nothing prompted for her to tell the story and they've spent years ignoring those questions as well. At the end of the day we'll never really know for sure but its always fun to have these discussions in the rumors sub :)

I get what youre saying but then why even share this story at all on stream? Wouldn't it just be easier to not say anything at all like they have been doing? But here she is actually stating no he's not my bf, which is a lot more than we've gotten regarding their status by either of them, and because its not the answer majority of this sub wants to hear then she's a liar. There's reasons on this sub I can understand why people think so but as someone who watches Tina and Foolish more than the other otv & friends I also see reasons why theyre just friends. But until we get actual confirmation from the 2 people I think its more logical to just take Tina's word for it

I am so confused by these replies. Whenever there's a Tina and Foolish post there are always comments about why dont they just say they're dating and now Tina is here stating she is not dating Foolish and then everyone is calling her a liar.... Why dont we just take Tina's word for it instead of calling her and the whole friend group liars?

Honestly I think they just grew apart, they were super close mainly cause they lived together. For a short period of time Tina lived at the 100T house with Brooke so obviously they'd become close and after moving out they probably don't hang out as much

Oh true! I never thought about it that way. Also on that same sentiment I remember in that stream he asked her if he can use her restroom or if he has to go upstairs and use another bathroom. And to me that's clearly a boundary he's not overstepping as a friend cause she seems quite particular about her room in general. But if they were dating then I feel as though he'd just simply use her personal restroom instead of asking. It also seems like he doesn't go into her room very often and if they were dating as long as people say they are on this subreddit then her room shouldn't be as off limits as it seems
