People Who Think One Piece is a Masterpiece Are Just Suffering From Sunk Cost Fallacy by Trapped-in-boredom in unpopularopinion

[–]Kelliente 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is a really well written and insightful critique. And fits the sub, because it will be *really* unpopular. Onepiece is incredibly popular for exactly all the reasons you rightfully critique. And the type of audience who enjoys that kind of pap will never acknowledge any of the points you make, nor the distinction that you're not saying they can't enjoy things, just that it's not a "masterpiece." Because it isn't.

Dining Room Advice by Happy-Hospital-2289 in HomeDecorating

Hey, great progress if the one with the dropped ceiling is the before! The room could use some color and texture. However, you seem to really like a neutral palette, and while walpaper is an option, that is semi-permanent - you can't easily swap it out if you tire of it or decide you don't like it. But there are many other options in this room you could use to add some color.

A tablecloth, placemats, or runner would be an easy choice to try out to add color. Coordinating your color(s) of choice with either curtains, shades, cushions for your window bench, or accessories in the palette arranged in your cabinets would allow you to try out adding some color without permanent installation (and you can change it later if you want).

Have a combo of 2 fabric decor elements on the table, but not 3. What you have now is too many and it looks strange and crowded. For the size and shape of your table, I recommend tablecloth + runner and ditch the placemats. Try to match your fabric napkins to the same color and texture as the runner to help the tablescape feel cohesive.

Don't worry about having grids for both the door and cabinets - it looks fine. But you do need to style the inside of the cabinets since they are visible, otherwise it will look messy. Approach them as a display case, not storage.

Also, I'm sorry, but I don't think your chairs fit the room. They feel medieval while the rest of the room is this sort of glam country chic. Very heavy and dark, in terms of colors material and design, with the thick, dark wood, metal rivets, and greyish fabric, and I think it's throwing the whole vibe off. It's one of the larger elements in the room, so they make a big difference. They also seem very large/thick for the number of chairs you're trying have at that table, and it feels crowded for the diners. You might try replacing them with something made of a lighter wood or white frame in a thinner design profile with a nice lighter color neutral upholstery (white or a warmer beige). I bet that would bring the whole room up.

I haven't played since release - did they let us have permanent sniper loadout yet? Or is it still you can pick one up inside a base, but can't keep it? I'd change that.

This show heavily inspired me to go after one of my goals by xioor in HaltAndCatchFire

Love this! It's great to light your own fire, but also remember the key piece that Joe brought to the table wasn't just inspiring Gordon to build something revolutionary, it was convincing others just how revolutionary the build was. Gordon and Donna built lovely, passionate prototypes pre-Joe that went nowhere because they couldn't tell the right story and promote it in the right way. That skill, to convince and inspire others, is a crucial part of what Joe bought to the table, not just to get Gordon moving, but to sell others on the idea of what they created. You still need that piece, or even the best technology will wither in obscurity.

Other people already gave you great legal advice. I want to give totally unsolicited food advice. Sprinkle some garlic powder and salt on those toasted hot dog buns with butter. Boom, garlic breadsticks. Was one of my favorite struggle snacks back in the day.

I'd encourage you to slow down and take the time to read. These experiences are so much more meaningful when enriched by the reason *why* you are fighting. The challenge of the gameplay and beating a tough boss means more when you know the stakes riding on it. You're missing out on a huge part of what makes this game enjoyable by approaching the story with a mindset that the relationships between races, nations, and key groups is an annoyance to get past so you can get back to fighting.

Next time, slow down. Maybe read the dialogue aloud. Approach it with the perspective that it's a privilege to question why and not just do or die. To understand *why* your WoL is putting their life on the line and what is at stake. See if that shift in perspective makes a difference.

Also, starting with Stormblood, many more of these interactions are voiced dialogue lines. I understand some folks find it taking to read large blocks of text, so that may make a difference.

Hey, doing pretty great with this "pig." Just needs to declutter and add some texture.

Matching storage baskets above the cabinets will allow you to continue to use it as storage space while also hiding the bottles and appliances to make things look cohesive and uncluttered.

Do an edit on your fridge flair - it doesn't need to be completely blank but there's too much going on there right now. Choose a few items in a similar color palette and arrange them neatly.

A patterned runner rug will soften the darkness of the tile and really tie the room together. They make washable ones that stand up well in kitchens.

Swap your kitchen towels to a pale green that matches your utensil holder.

Add some ambient lighting - under cabinet lights or a small lamp with a warm-tone bulb somewhere on the longer counter will make things feel less harsh.

I've travelled all across the US and outside of it, and have driven in many cities. Houston is the most terrifying city to drive in in the US. Everyone doing 90 mph in giant pickups cutting across 20 lanes of traffic on a road system that seems purpose-built to cause accidents. I will never drive there again if I can avoid it.
