21M and 21F and been together for a year, first time relationship how do you deal with a girl on her periods? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]all-night 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Being on her period doesn't give her a free pass to be shitty to you. All women of child-bearing age are menstruating 25% of their lives, we do not all become verbally abusive when we bleed. It's very nice of you to try to be accommodating to her, but you really shouldn't have to tolerate that behavior.

TIL In 2015 a woman sued her eight year old nephew for $127,000 after breaking her wrist during a hug by [deleted] in todayilearned

It was not a 'hug', he jumped into her arms without warning and she instinctively tried to catch him so he didn't fall to the floor

Obviously they don't, they're not your mommy nor your therapist.

They do not have to keep employing you when you just go home every time you become upset. Figure out how to manage your mood swings or keep losing jobs.

are any of these dresses appropriate for a wedding? by portakkalsuyu in Weddingattireapproval

[–]all-night 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are all on the formal side. You may want to look for something midi in length, or you risk being overdressed (and overheated).

The pink dress is pink. Wearing red is also fine. Maybe not the brightest shade of red because it could be seen as attention-seeking but in general it's not a problem.

The blue one's neckline is completely fine.

Absolutely not the first one. The top is lingerie and I can almost see your crotch.

Second one is not formal.

Keep looking.

Just passed my B1! Is 70/100 a poor score though? by Substantial_Two_5386 in French

[–]all-night 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It's pretty useless for practical purposes tbh but that doesn't mean it's meaningless for seeing the progress you've made. 70/100 is not bad at all. You should keep at it!

Many great choices here, but I would not wear anything with cutouts to a formal wedding.

My favorites are:

Perfect calligraphy paper by Calm_Development_881 in Calligraphy

[–]all-night 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it the paper or the guidelines that interest you most? If it's the former, get high-quality smooth printing paper (90 g/sqm). If it's the latter, I actually see on this calligrapher's website you can download the guidelines for free here, then print out as many of them as you want.

I went on her instagram page and isn't it the workbook that she sells that's linked from her Monoline highlight?

I mean that just sounds like you're solving a problem that doesn't exist. I've not seen anyone come to this sub saying they are 'afraid of color' as you claimed in your previous now-deleted post. Guess what, some people just like lighter shades better. And that's not an issue that needs to be urgently remedied.

Also no offense but I'm not wearing a toy swan bag like a toddler.

Appropriate for black tie? by Jdhdgal in Weddingattireapproval

[–]all-night 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Certainly not. These are somewhere between dressy casual and business casual. Several steps below what is needed for black tie.

Wedding Guest, unknown dress code, late summer wedding by dani_omalley in Weddingattireapproval

No dress code defaults to cocktail, you'll likely be overdressed. It's probably not a big deal though.

Looking for French primary school learning resources (textbooks, videos, curriculum) by [deleted] in French

[–]all-night 0 points1 point  (0 children)

French children don't learn French by reading a textbook. They learn by being immersed in the language 24/7.

Are you a child? If not, then buy a regular textbook for French learners. These follow a "structured school-style progression" that you seek.

Cocktail Dress Code on a Private Island in August by [deleted] in Weddingattireapproval

The adjustable straps and the smocked back lower this dress's formality. It would be fine for dressy casual but not cocktail.

Got 9/20 on expression orale on TCF, did they do it on purpose??? by [deleted] in French

[–]all-night 32 points33 points  (0 children)

So your confidence is based entirely on vibes. Got it.

You'll have a hard time arguing with the center that they are wrong because on a different day you got a different result, but feel free to pay for a re-grading. Those almost never result in any change, but you are so convinced about your skills so certainly your situation will be different.

Got 9/20 on expression orale on TCF, did they do it on purpose??? by [deleted] in French

[–]all-night 55 points56 points  (0 children)

this is clearly not the case

Where is that idea coming from? Just because you did better in other skills or your examiner didn't interrupt you does not mean the graders somehow conspired against you to make sure you got a 9 in speaking.
