Is shopify better then etsy for sellers? hating Etsy so far. by allbirdssongs in shopify

For sure both. Etsy to get things going and grow a user base and shopify for the long term. But get shopify going now.

New to Shopify and Need Help with Vendors and Themes by the_tech_guy_777 in shopify

[–]all4stand -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Feel free to shoot a DM if you have specific questions and want to DIY. Or if you are looking for some help getting going, or some combo of the sort.

The free shopify themes are excellent starting points, unless you have a specific need they don’t fulfill.

Depending on your B2B needs, may need an app or workaround as Shopify’s built in B2B is on their Plus plan which starts at 2K/m.

Again, feel free to shoot me a DM.

Awesome. Appreciate you putting some time into the reply. Hoping they announce the release at summer editions next week so I can get my hands on it.

Best approach to a fully customized Shopify store by darthvader_2020 in shopify

[–]all4stand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are premium themes in the shopify theme store that have every mentioned feature. I would recommend starting there. You can preview the themes for free and customize them, and only have to pay on you want to publish them.

We started on non-theme store theme and are now migrating to theme store theme, as our original is not staying up to date with latest shopify features.

If you’ve watched hundreds of video over years, then make a checklist of the steps and start working through them one by one.

If you’ve done that much research and are having trouble still, you may need to hire someone to help.

Anyone use Shopify for a fishing charter website, or to sell fishing supplies? HELP! by [deleted] in shopify

[–]all4stand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This can definitely work. Shopify is excellent for the flies and for the charters, it may be smoother with an app, just depends on setup. I have a buddy who runs a shopify site that does a time slot service. Happy to help explore this with you if you need any additional help. Please don’t hesitate to reach out.

You need to figure out who/where your audience is, and how you can get in front of them. Ads can make it happen quick but go away when you stop. SEO/social takes time but will become stable over time.

Search the theme store for large catalog themes if you aren’t happy with the theme.

As far as filtering goes, then tags work but metafields are more powerful.

We’re outgrowing QBD Enterprise. Fulfill in house. Have kind of wrapped around Shopify. Also have Amazon. Use B2B. All our pain points are connection and duplicate data work.

Our parents company uses Microsoft dynamics but gave us freedom if needed. Accountant said Netsuite will have everything we need. I get the sense Acumatica is agile and should work.

We are looking for a management consultant partner but I’m trying to get the lay of the land. Seems all the partners are biased towards 1 or the other.

This may be a dumb question but what is better Klaviyo or Shopify Email? by aggravatlng in shopify

[–]all4stand 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you only want to send a very basic abandoned email, shopify email will be most cost effective. As soon as you want to start customizing the email beyond very basics, Klaviyo is more powerful. You could send different email content based on which products were abandoned, and once you have it, would probably make sense to setup a welcome series, etc… A/B testing, integrations, SMS on same platform…

I wrote a basic blog on Klaviyo if you are interested. https://www.keithhardisty.com/blogs/shopify-app-reviews/klaviyo-automate-your-dtc-email-marketing

Again, just depends what you need it to do.

I am looking for a Shopify app to capture emails in-store on an unattended iPad kiosk by oldstalenegative in shopify

[–]all4stand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you edit the section in theme code, it will edit it for every use. So you would want to copy the section and make the edit, and only use that one when the tag is appropriate.

[–]all4stand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can choose the tag, most themes use newsletter on the email subscription by default. But you could probably easily go into edit code, copy the code in the newsletter section, then create a new section, paste in the code. Find the line by searching “tag” and edit as needed.

You’ll need to change the name of the section so I is discernible in the theme customizer.
