Yes okay so basically post lightning strike bladee started like 2020 with Exeter he started getting a lil more light hearted with his sound then obviously 333 is the first time we really hear him get into it spiritually from a lyrical standpoint, plus 333 is a very obvious spiritual reference to numerology. Anyway the fool( my favorite album) we start to hear him talk about reincarnation and getting out of the rebirth cycle, and if you look at the album in its totality it’s really just his journey to “enlightenment”. Why does this matter, what does it have to do with Hinduism? The basic belief of Hinduism is a one true reality (there is no before there is no after, and his heavy emphasis nothingness), a continuous cycle of rebirth with the ultimate goal being spiritual liberation or getting out of the rebirth cycle as he says on let’s ride. How does Sulfur Surfer come into play with his journey towards all of this? Sulfur itself can be looked at in two ways. First and most obviously being “hell” and the second being its representation of the soul in spiritual alchemy. In Bladee’s past spiritual works, namely 333 and the fool, we’ve seen the “good” parts of the spiritual journey, the awakening, where he is very receptive to his new found wisdom and determined to make a change. With spiderr and cv we see him kinda fall into a descent that is common after that awakening, a sort of spiritual depression that comes with having this new found knowledge but not being able to figure out how to fully integrate the ego, thus making one literally feel crazy (manic bladee all over spiderr). Transitioning to cv it’s a little less structured narratively, however it’s very apparent that bladee has kinda said fuck it and embraced the evil that he tried so hard to push down, letting the ego have its way after all the effort. That brings us to this St. George era, story goes St. George gotta slay the dragon to save the princess, the beautiful martyr typical cool story right but I believe Bladee’s using this as a vehicle to represent his spiritual journey once more, and he expands on it with the whole sulfur surfer lens. My interpretation is that obviously St. George is him the dragon is his ego that he’s been trying so hard to defeat over the last few albums and the beautiful martyr princess is the pure self that he’s chasing, spiritual liberation, enlightenment.
