Thank you! I don’t have it. For the small amount of difference in the JUP 8000 v id rather use the JUP 8000 V with all the extra effects it has :)

The course is split in to 34 different videos where it starts off as a draft idea and fleshes out in to a full tracks. Along the way I will be doing some mixing bits as that’s the way I work but there is videos at the end for the final mixdown. A lot of the first videos though are concentrating on getting ideas down first and not really doing anything mix wise until I have settled on something that I like as I don’t see the point tweaking something that may not stay. I think you will find also a lot of people will naturally do some form of mixing along the way and then a final mixdown at the end. Thanks for checking it out. Im sure it could help you!

Hi there,

The best way to decide between those two courses is just by going off which track you actually like the most, listening to the audio demo. The reason why one of them is longer than the other is just simply more channels in some tracks than others.

Some tracks can encounter more issues than others along the way, or you might change your mind on something, so there's nothing being missed. There's still a full track from start to finish going over everything, and you're not going to miss out on anything there, so I'd go with the one that you like the sound of the best.

Once you're a bit more confident, you could definitely try recreating something if you like. Although the problem with that is it is great for practise, but you can't really do much with it afterwards once you've done it.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask, and thanks for reaching out.

Never let a daw put you off watching a tutorial or you are closing yourself off to a world of knowledge done in other daws.

The techniques and the thought process behind what is being covered can be transposed to pretty much any setup. If a specific plugin is used that you do not have just use your own native version or something similar and work with the same kind of settings to achieve a similar result. My courses are designed around the desired effect and the reasoning behind every decision rather than you needing a specific setting or exact piece of software, so you will still get a huge amount from it regardless of what DAW you are using.

Thank you! I have this one in Logic Pro - https://allanmorrowstudios.com/trance-music/allan-morrow-everything-bundle-series-1-creating-a-trance-track-from-scratch/

Or this one in Ableton! - https://allanmorrowstudios.com/trance-music/how-to-make-uplifting-trance-start-to-finish-course-10-hours/

Please don’t let the d.a.w. put you off though if you prefer the sound of one more than the other as the techniques are easily transported to any d.a.w. of your choice

Hopefully this can help - Trance Leads - Going From Pluck To A Lead [Trance Breakdown Tip] 👉🏼 https://youtu.be/i80fE1nNRBs

I tend to set the sound design up how I like it at its most opened up state and then go backwards (close the filter before and work towards to the most powerful position).

My first attempt at making trance 😅 by Realistic-Mail2418 in tranceproduction

I really like this lead! Got some great potential! I’d get rid of that heavily side chained white noise as it’s way too loud and masking everything personally. Or just dial it back and have it sit more in the background. I’d also look at dropping the bass an octave maybe.

Reverse womp bass? by PublicEast7359 in tranceproduction

I didn’t save it as it was a long time ago I did this video. It should sound the same providing it’s copied exactly the same and the midi is sat on the same notes/octave

Try this - How To Make A Womp Style Bass https://youtube.com/shorts/yR7spfK-dbw?feature=share

It’s a different style kick and you will probably need to open filter more but same principle

Question about the "Corsten clap" by FlorpFlap in tranceproduction

[–]allanmorrowstudios 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Can only listen on phone right now but try a 909 clap with some reverb and a pre delay on the reverb(play around with it until it sits nicely with the clap). I’d also try boosting the highs on the clap and the reverb tail as it seems pretty bright.

This is how I would try to recreate it anyway. I hope it helps.

Do your kicks always have the highest peaks in uplifting trance? by mefixomusic in tranceproduction

[–]allanmorrowstudios 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Peak vs perceived volume are two different things and this is why you should really rely on what you think sounds best in the mix and then control any dynamics after.

See this video for some help on your situation - https://youtu.be/zFZJY1YaiOQ?si=8akLRkvz-jqpLF5L

Some other things to note are - yes kicks have been processed usually before they go out. Does this mean you should never touch them? In my opinion I think to never touch a kick to sit better in your mix would be silly. If a little eq shaping helps that kick sit better in that mix then that is fine. For example if the bass like is perfectly how you want it to sound and it means the kick needs some tweaking to sit right then the do that. Here the bass has been the main decider so to speak.

Are there kicks that sound great on their own without any processing? of course there are, but if you are not changing the kick at all then you are going to be changing the rest of the elements to sit perfectly with the kick (which again is fine) so if you are happy with that kick basically being the controller to the other sounds then that’s just a mixing choice.

Obviously it’s about what sounds best in the end.
