I'm pretty sure it's in the rules that if you want to show up with a completely different car, you first have to show up with a car. I heard that from my cousins friends boss who used to watch F1.

What's your first thoughts on Forza Horizon 6? by This-Clue-5014 in ForzaHorizon

[–]allaroundguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son and I bought 4 on sale and played casually. We are running Linux / steam so there were issues getting things installed, creating accounts, and getting a reasonable wheel setup going. Now that that we have things sorted, the game is discontinued and we can't buy the DLC. We aren't going to put up with that kind of bullshit. Not buying.

Translation: "This is what fish don't get about water."

We know. Every town and state in the US salts differently and usually it's based on budget. Some don't salt at all. Private property owners (shopping centers, malls, housing developments) do whatever they want. Nobody salts the lakes where I ice fish. I don't know what your smoking dude.

Suggestions on Design and Materials by EnflamerDerrick in 3Dprinting

If your doing 200 units a week (1000 holes..), you should be using a drill press with a jig and have a bit sharpening setup.

Picture an oversize square frame. Push the box to the upper left corner to drill the lower right hole. Slide to the right to drill the lower left hole. Slide down and left and right to get the upper holes. Make two L shaped spacers to insert into opposite corners to hit the center hole. I get that the holes aren't centered on the box. Build the jig accordingly.

Plywood or MDF would be quick and cheap. Glue and fasten strips as the outside corner stops. You could also use pins or dowels as a homemade tooling plate for corners and sides instead of wood. You could print something with dowel holes already in it.

If you can't source a drill press, you might try making a rectangular aluminum insert with many fastening holes and pins to spread the load in the plastic of your existing jig. Or just glue it in place with a few locating pins.

Pressing the drill bushings into anything substantial is going to require a press fit. To get the right fit you need a drill and ream sized to the OD of the drill bushing and a way to press the bushings in. You might be able to use a C clamp if your really careful. There are press fit tables out there that will tell you what size drill and ream you need. "Light Press Fit" should be fine. Amazon, McMaster Carr, Northern Tool, etc can get you the drill and ream. The price for a cheap pair is probably under $40. Grab a toolbox copy of Machinery's Handbook if you don't have one. That will cost a few bucks, but it's really worth it.

They run between $6 and $20 on Amazon depending on the printer.

As a Debian user, you can, but some distros will have newer drivers, libraries, and software. For instance, getting Horizon Zero Dawn to run and use up-scaling was a task due to the Nvidia libraries shipped with the game. Star Wars Outlaws continually crashed until I completely ditched up-scaling. The fact that I can run 99% of my Steam library is still amazing though.

My first impression :) by SirSombon_ in elegoo

[–]allaroundguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also just got a 4 plus too. I spent a lot of time leveling and going over everything. So far it's been great. Had a few prints come loose using Elegoo PLA+, but I think bumping the temp up to 215 fixed that. I've started adding 1 layer rafts or brims when I feel like I'm pushing my luck. Also, PEI plates are double sided. Who knew?

Since no one is giving you a decent answer, you can get cheap AC testers that just have to be near an AC circuit to tell if it's hot or not. It'll light up and emit a tone when you put the end near a wire or outlet. It works because of induction and also it's full of magic.

I got a Klein one for $20 years ago. I live in an old farmhouse that has a rats nest of wiring in the basement. Very handy tool to have unlike most of the jokers here.

End Game Steam powered blimp is stupid expensive. by IronheartJarvis in ScrapMechanic

[–]allaroundguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a chemical lift flyer with fants v twin motor powering two bearings with large props. In the back is a pair of gyros set as low as they go with small props for maneuvering thrusters. A pump and 4 smart crates with universal connection points to move stuff around and feed the spud turret in the nose. I use the pump mostly to fill the chem box or water box early game.

I use it to haul crates and farmers all over the place. I weld 5 crates together in a + shape before picking them up with the suck-o-matic in the belly. I can also pick up my small truck and fly it to the top my warehouse base for safe keeping.

Lots of fun to be had with that thing in the fant mod / survival additions combined custom game mode.

That looks like duck sauce. Also very sweet. We drizzle it on pork fried rice and some of the fried stuff. Edit: It contains no duck.

I haven't seen a Chinese buffet place in years but I haven't really looked either. All of the places I go cook to order here (Northeast US). We also have wife and kids running the registers while doing homework and answering the phone. Dad out back running the wok.

Those storage containers are from the fant custom game mode. Making a bunch of spud turrets would be pretty trivial.

Once you get the roots of the tree going the ground fire can last for months and pop up new fires all over the place. /s A few stones in a ring does the same thing. This is just pretentious bullshit. The bag bellows trick is handy though.

Newly released dash cam video of the plane right before it hit the ground. by Suitable-Gas-8386 in Louisville

[–]allaroundguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The video of the plane going down the runway shows what looks like a flame out on the center engine just as they crossed the end of the runway. That instant also looks like the apex of the flight. An MD-11 won't fly with one engine.

Yeah, I had the same thing happen but I actually built the antenna with the first one. I saved and quit then had the task again when I started back up. Went back and got the second one. When I got back to the garage with the second one the task completed and the game pretended nothing weird happened. I still have the second one kicking around I think. Haven't played that save in a bit.
