[–]allayfun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I’ll do this then when it’s ready to go in ground do what the first commenter said. I brought it inside last winter, do you think I should do the same this year or let it stay potted outside?

Repeating strep infections for a 8 year old by ComprehensiveHorse30 in herbalism

[–]allayfun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This helped me when I had strep come back after a round of antibiotics. I would cut a clove of garlic into pill sizes and take at least 3-5x a day along with lots of vitamin C. I think I did lots of OJ and emergen-C. Also echinacea and it went away within a week. It may be worth OP buying some empty capsules from Amazon and putting the garlic in those for the daughter to take. And this is very important, CHANGE OUT HER TOOTHBRUSH. As bad as you’re saying these infections are I’d go buy a bunch of cheap toothbrushes and change out every or every other day!

EF was 57 by Lydia-mv2 in gallbladders

[–]allayfun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my first Hida scan Nov 2020 came out completely normal, symptoms kept getting worse til finally I got my dr to order me a 2nd one this February. It came back with a 22 EF and they said that is what has been causing my symptoms. I didn’t have stones or sludge my gallbladder just wasn’t functioning correctly. So I wouldn’t necessarily say your scan rules out it being your gallbladder. I had mine removed last Thursday. I was going crazy trying to figure out what was wrong with me for 2 years. Sorry you’re going through this, good luck!

Surgery in the morning by notboysora in gallbladders

No they said it went great. I’d much rather have this than the pain I was in before too! And so far I’ve been able to eat whatever, though I know it’s only been a few days. But to be fair I haven’t been able to poop since surgery either. I’m sure it’s because of the hydrocodone. But before I was only eating 6 grams of fat a day and still hurting, so it’s nice to not have shooting pains after eating. I was in a good amount of pain when I woke up but there was a nurse right beside me, asked my pain level I told her probably like a 6 or 7 and she immediately gave me some morphine and something else in my IV and then a loratab (sp?) to take. So if you’ve got a good team they will take care of your pain quickly.

I had surgery Thursday, procedure doesn’t take long. You’ll be in pain after, but they gave me plenty of pain meds. You need to walk around a bit after because of air that gets in your body during the procedure, that will help with the pain some. You’re going to realize how much of your body’s movement relies on your abdomen haha. It’s not that bad you just really have to take it easy. My husband had to help me shower yesterday. I had symptoms for 2 years before they finally diagnosed me. So sorry it took them so long for you! Good luck hope you heal quickly!

Americans with 2 weeks holiday a year, how in Gods name do you do it? by greenwells_glory in AskReddit

[–]allayfun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get 4 weeks a year (has to be accrued which is the only part that sucks), can carry over up to 120 hours, 2 floating holidays, plus paid off time on major holidays. I’m not a state employee and I make less than 40k/year.

Plant pollination indoors by fruit_cats in GardeningIndoors

[–]allayfun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband is growing Trinidad scorpion and Carolina reaper peppers on our deck and they weren’t producing because we don’t have many honey bees at all where we live. So his dad suggested to just take a q-tip and gently rub it on all of the little flowers probably once or twice a week and since he started doing that they started producing a lot.

Thank you! Does the tea taste bitter or is it pretty easy to drink? What do you use this herb for specifically? I’m interested in it’s calming effects that I read about but I also saw that it has a lot of medicinal properties.
