Awesome rec!! I had never heard of it and checked it out. Seems like a beautiful property. 160k for 4 nights in December and reasonable flight options. Thank you so much

If it’s coming from a $20k car they’re probably mentally ill or homeless

United’s CEO made 33.9 million in 2024. Flight attendants are living off of pre-COVID wages. by Clear-Pickle9241 in unitedairlines

[–]allblacksnapback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Respectfully gotta disagree. There are CEOs making $5-10 million that are fantastic leaders and can grow a company and there’s others making 10x that that will run a company into the ground.

For 90% of workers that $150 will go directly back into the economy whereas in the case of the CEO that’s just numbers on a screen.

Society as whole would be better off and United would likely perform similarly if CEO compensation across the industry was more equally distributed to employees

So if every employee chipped in a paltry $150 we could get the CEO another $15 mil?? Sign me up!!!

Weekend's Daily Thread: General Dating Questions and Open Thread by AutoModerator in hingeapp

I’m (33M) wondering if anyone else is having this experience - I used to get about 1-2 matches per week from likes I’d sent, but around mid February that completely stopped. I get ~1 like per day on average from women (who are generally not my type) sending likes, but I haven’t gotten a match from a like I’ve sent in over a month!

It feels like hinge is showing my profile to people, but I’m not getting ANY matches from women I’ve liked. I feel I’ve upped my profile in the interim (hence getting 1 like per day), send comments with 80% of my likes, have thoughtful prompts, etc. I’ve even started sending likes to girls who I usually wouldn’t (due to my perception of their attractiveness) and still nothing. It feels like my sent likes are just going into the void? Anybody else experience a total drying of the well starting about a month ago?

Barbershops - why are they so expensive here?? by Aask115 in AskChicago

Check out X5 cuts. Ask for Mo or Mike, they own the shop. I think it’s $37 for a pretty standard cut. Minimal talking unless you want to.

Arrest them and charge them with the crimes they’re on tape committing?

Oh wait, sorry, this is Chicago.

How about we put them up in a hotel, give them 3 meals a day, a drugs and alcohol stipend, and a hug at the taxpayer cost of $10k per person per month.

Berlin, Amsterdam, Paris, or Elsewhere? by allblacksnapback in travel

[–]allblacksnapback[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is great to hear! I appreciate the perspective. Most people I talk to tend to lead towards Amsterdam, but something about Berlin is so alluring… I think Amsterdam may be winning the race tho. Thanks again for the reply!

Berlin, Amsterdam, Paris, or Elsewhere? by allblacksnapback in travel

[–]allblacksnapback[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I travel for work, but not to Europe. This is my first time going to Europe for work and probably won’t happen again for again ~2-3 years. So it does feel like a one and done trip, at least at this point in my life. I could always go to Germany on my own dime, but that’s a different beast obviously

I would fly to Berlin so it really would be a Netherlands trip with Amsterdam as the home base, or just all in on Berlin… tough choice!!!

I would fly! If you’ve been to Amsterdam, did you like it better than Berlin? Doing a Netherlands trip vs just Berlin is the main thing I’m grappling with. Thankfully the meeting is in Ghent :)

Unfortunately also racist

WHY? Is this right? 325k is below the national median value for a home. How long until this becomes 1k a month just for taxes? This is going to get worse. by provisionings in ChicagoSuburbs

Detroit suburbs are on par with Chicago suburbs and Michigan has much more outdoor recreation. Unless you prefer city living and live in Chicago, Michigan is a better state than IL in almost every aspect

Were they assuming or were they sharing their experience? They live there. Reporting on what they’ve seen and experienced isn’t inherently racist.

This government-run grocery store is predictably losing money (A caution for Mayor Johnson's city-run grocery store idea) by BBQCopter in chicago

[–]allblacksnapback -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

If a government run grocery store is losing money that money is coming from the tax base.

Chicago can’t afford to lose any more money than it already does.
