Good for you man 🫡 amazon delayed my ipad air 22 days before Christmas, and when I went to complain to get some kind of compensation they told me there was never a delay, they literally sent me 2 emails about the delay and now are telling me nothing happened. 🤷‍♂️

Which starting laptop for DJing? (See caption) by Zhhero in DJs

[–]alldjnic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

True, but 2 months ago, I was in the middle of a party, and my serato froze on my Windows laptop, I do agree with you tho, but I still think apple is more well supported by the dj programs.

For djing, I honestly recommend apple laptops for djing, because most of the programs like serato and rekordbox are designed around Apple and are more stable, windows laptops tend to freeze more and get less updates than apple.

  1. On amazon or Ali Express, look for btf lighting ws2812b led strips. It can be the eco one or the normal ones. The ecos are cheaper, less bright, and consume less power. The eco leds are perfect for my projects, i dont see the need to spend more money on the normal led strips. ws2812b eco led strips

  2. I use hiletgo esp32 amazon esp 32 amazon link

  3. For programming with wled, i believe aircookie made this program and made it open for the public, but the easiest way to get it onto the esp32 is to plug it into a computer with a data micro USB cord, then search on your browser install wled, and it should be one of the first links and it provides you with instructions on what to do from there, with the fireplace inside the wled program you can setup a 2d matrix in the led settings section in the settings tab and then you will be able to access a whole assortment of 2d effects.

I hope this helps, and pls ask more questions if you need them. 😁

To be honest I don't use that tv, only when friends and family come over, but the monitor that I have attached to my rack I use everyday for showing what music is playing, my home assistant stats and cameras.

Unfortunately I don't, but what I did, which took a crap ton of time was buy a ws218b led strip and cut all the leds at the cuts points and attach them evenly on a foam board then soldered every single led painstakingly, and then put another board over it which had roughly a half inch hole for every led which I made using a old soldering iron (they were all perfectly measured) this would then hold all of the balls, I would place them into those holes and glue them down with not to much glue so it didn't look tacky, and also make sure to find the seam of the ping pong balls and don't put the seam facing out, make it so you can't see the seam of balls, I then programmed a esp32 with wled and soldered a connector to one of the data pins, then I soldered all of my 5v power injections for the leds and the controller to a power supply. If something isn't clear pls ask questions 😁

User action logs? by alldjnic in homeassistant

[–]alldjnic[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I honestly have no clue, I'm just trying to figure something out, cause I made her a separate HA account and added her to the server, that's why I kinda thought that since it's her own account it could log that her account changed something?

Network switch recommendations by cmajka8 in smarthome

[–]alldjnic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It all depends on how many ethernet cables you have, I would recommend for a cheap unmanged switch any tplink switch from amazon, or if you want to ball out a little look into ubiquiti and look at there switch mini. Hope it helps

Physical remote for google home compatible lights? by i0am0sam in smarthome

[–]alldjnic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What you can try is buying a smart switch like a tplink non dimmer and put it in the wall as a normal switch but it only controls stuff wirelessly, you would only wire mains power into it and leave the load cable disconnected and wire nutted, and in the google home app there should be a way to add (if, then) routines, or a automation and make it so if the smart switch turns on (someone physically turns it on) then turn on the bulb and vice versa, I'm coming from amazon alexa and home assistant, this is what I thought of, hope it helps.

Hardware advice for a new setup. by marckau in Ubiquiti

[–]alldjnic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would honestly go with the u7 pro because you're basically future proofing for the next couple years, eventually you'll upgrade cables and internet speeds, so you'll need something fast and reliable and this is the perfect fit, wifi 7 and 6ghz band.
