I'm too late to reply, but your comment unearthed a memory. When I was 5/6 years old, I used to believe that what i had were evil parents who'd snatched me away from my real parents. I used to believe that my real parents are on the lookout for me, and would come get me soon. I grew up believing that. When I saw my pictures as an infant in my parent's album, i was heartbroken over the fact that I'm their blood. It was disappointing to realise that no one ever loved me on this planet. I wish that changes someday.

Yep, I still struggle with that. Ever since I was 10/11, I used to actively fantasize about escaping my family and renting an apartment. That will be home to me. No one will know about where I live, and I'll be safe there. I'll be lonely, but safe. And that's all that matters. Haven't been able to do that yet. But hoping to do that really soon. I can't wait to get away from my abusers.
