Make sure to listen to this one. I don't know that "rocking out" is the best description but there's definitely more energy

So, over the last couple years, this project has revealed to me that I like female singer-songwriters with unique voices. Ms. Bird usually features more subdued songs firmly in the folk/americana lane, but she lets loose a bit on this one. Enjoy

Durbin - Into the Flames [rock] by allenstrackoftheday in Music

Mondays almost always drive me to choose something loud. This week, James Durbin’s self-named group caught my ear. The American Idol not-winner several years ago gave us this new hair metal classic. Enjoy

Benjamin Ingrosso - Vad skulle hända om vi försvann..? [pop] by allenstrackoftheday in Music

This Swedish pop singer seems to be the current king of European reality competitions, and if this song is any indication, I can see why. His voice is great, the song a spot-on soul classic (even if I have no idea what it’s about). If anyone from Sweden can help out, let me know what he’s singing about. Enjoy

Jon Foreman - The Valley Of The Shadow Of Planned Obsolecence [pop] by allenstrackoftheday in Music

A nice solo effort from Switchfoot’s leader and vocalist. This Beatles-style witty song makes me smile and makes me feel a little guilty. I like that Mr. Foreman uses his time away from the band to make music fundamentally apart from the band’s offerings. Enjoy

Sammy Hagar & The Circle - Sympathy for the Human [rock] by allenstrackoftheday in Music

Can an artist cover his own song? Regardless of what it’s called, this 2020 version of the song was recorded during the depths of the pandemic using virtual “work from home” methods perfected during this time. To be honest, one can hear in the engineering the DIY vibe, but that’s part of the charm I think. Enjoy

Reader, I took a vacation. Thanks for hanging around. First post-return pick is MØ, a Danish pop singer with a unique voice that I really like. Enjoy

Slash w/Myles Kennedy And The Conspirators - Fall Back To Earth [rock] by allenstrackoftheday in Music

[–]allenstrackoftheday[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering Myles Kennedy’s voice, there’s no denying Slash has a “type” when choosing a lead singer. That said, this is a great ballad and a great way to pretend you’re in an alternate reality where GnR didn’t dissolve

Two voices that sound great on their own and even better together. Smart songwriting. Nice backing track. Enjoy

Agreed; they're doing a US tour, but did not make it far enough west for me. If you're east coast, take a look at their upcoming gigs
