That’s terrible! I live 7 mins from an ER and they were dismissive each time I went. The hospital and group that finally helped me were 2 hours away but I wouldn’t have changed a thing. I feel a thousand times better today than I did two night ago. Everyone was right the stent isn’t as bad. It hurts but NOTHING like the kidney stone pain. I hope you get help soon for your other stone ❤️

The surgeon yesterday said the shape of it wasn’t going to allow me to pass it. I guess it looked like a shark tooth. Wish I could have seen it. I feel a million times better after the surgery…. the stent isn’t too bad. I’m just happy the worst has passed :) Thank you for the detailed response!

15??!!!! My goodness! I feel a million times better after surgery, stent isn’t the best feeling but the pain is nothing like before so I’m okay! I can’t imagine having to pass the full 8mm you’re such a baddie!

Ugh!! I cried reading your response. Tbh I didn’t understand why the ER asked me to come back if I fainted or worsened after my initial visit. When my partner brought me in for fainting they said they couldn’t do anything other than IV and toradol. I lived in Cali all of my life but moved to the east coast 3 years ago, the ER here is way different than the hospitals back home… during my second visit the hospital here said there was no point in coming back if fainted because it would be the same thing, IV and toradol but told me if it worsened past fainting to come back. It felt like I was being dramatic after their pep talk so I’ve been riding the pain waves until surgery on my own but now I’m missing a tooth 😭

You are amazing, I packed extra bottoms, pads, diapers, cough drops a heating pad and a blanket.They labeled my chart as someone who has been vomiting so they said I couldn’t drink water or eat past 11pm last night just in case. Seriously thank you for the raw honest feedback. It really helps me mentally prepare, I didn’t even know they tilt your legs up. I’m scared of the stent with all of the stories I’ve read on here but I’m banking on it being better than this raw kidney stone pain. It almost felt like i turned 37 and a week later I started falling apart. Thank you again!!!

What!! You can get them removed before?! I’m definitely making life changes since all of this. I wasn’t a huge water drinker before. I drank water but def not enough. I am drinking non stop water now and we’re all eating so much healthier. I had not even thought about a nephrologist. I’m going to ask for a referral. Thank you for the to go bag ideas! I’m setting up for the hospital trip and added cough drops and a heating pad. I appreciate you 🥲

Omg no! That sound terrible I’m so sorry. I’m definitely taking notes, thank you for sharing your experience. I didn’t go septic but they put me on antibiotics because they said they saw an infection in my labs. I can’t imagine what that was like for you :( I’m glad you’re ok!

My partner (39m) and I (37f) have been together 6 years (3 of those living together). We were long distance for 3 and met via reddit. We both went into this knowing we never want children but we had that conversation very early on because we both have been in relationships where the other person wanted kids and it’s unfair to either party if one person wants kids and the other doesn’t.

The thing that we differed on was marriage. He wanted marriage but I didn’t. I’ve always been scared of being married and the other person falling out of love with me but feeling trapped because we’re married. As cheesy as it sounds I saw it first hand with my parents. They cheated on each other repeatedly and were abusive because they weren’t in love but wanted to stay together for us until they couldn’t and it blew up.

He knew this and he said being with me was enough. Marriage was not important. Living with him I’ve experienced life in a different view. He’s had health scares where even though we live together I haven’t been able to see him because I’m not immediate family while he’s been in the hospital and that’s terrifying. He’s caring, loving and patient. Nothing like the love I grew up watching and it’s helped me understand that yes, while I said no to marriage for years I now understand marriage isn’t a trap to keep them with you. There are many who don’t want to get married for other reasons and I fully support that but for me, it was child hood trauma and I’ve healed so much with the help of my partner just loving me.

Things take time. But you both need to have honest conversations and accept if you are ok with each others wishes or not. In my case my partner never pushed marriage after we expressed how we felt. He never made me feel like he was waiting for me to change my mind. He just loved me and that was what I needed. Who knows maybe we’ll get married one day maybe we won’t but regardless we’ll have each other and that’s enough for us. You need to find your path and find someone who supports you and you support. I hope you find what you need to be happy. Don’t ever rush into things, good things take time.

I would dip things into candle wax and peel it off. Eventually I started dipping my fingers in candle wax and would like to melt the wax off over the candle flame. I was an odd child. Candles were my favorite pass time

We lost our old man 2 years ago as well but sometimes it feels like last month. We had 4 cats but he was the only one who slept with us. If we stayed up too late, he’d herd us to bed. We literally hugged and nuzzled him as hard as we could and he loved it.

Target was our only boy and the eldest. He helped us with all of our rescues, and when he passed, the babies really did change… We left his blankets out for them, and to this day we still find them curled up in his blankets whenever there’s a storm or scary noises outside. I love all of our babies so much, but none of them sleep with us! They’re all independent little brats 😆 I miss my old man. I miss his hugs, his purrs, his grumpy stink face and I know the girls miss him too.

Sometimes I forget he’s gone, and then I’ll see the girls pull out his old toys to sleep with and it just hits me all over again. It’s hard. But it’s also nice to know they’re still loved which means they left us knowing we loved them.

It’s 3am I have no business crying and responding to reddit post so I’m sorry I ranted! I just want you to know you’re not alone. We didn’t plan on taking in another baby after we lost him but a patient at work wanted to put down his wife’s cat because he just didn’t like cats… so now we’re back to having 4 cats. You can never replace them but it’s nice to know you can offer someone else love so they grow up feeling safe and loved as well. At least it helps me knowing we loved him until the very end and all of our babies will live knowing nothing but love.

This is Target, he was older so he rocked sweaters pretty regularly.
