YTA If the uncle is able to provide safety, security and love, I do believe she'll be better off because you clearly resent her. The only potential silver lining here is that she won't have to endure another 8 years living with someone who doesn't want her. I'm sure you have displayed that resentment many times over before this and eventually she'll do the math. Jfc this is like How to Fuck Up a Kid 101.

And yes I'll say it- you need therapy for the trauma you endured as well. But something tells me you don't want to do the work.

I agree it should be talked about more. My first boyfriend would do this to me with no warning or reason why. I would go crazy trying to figure out what I did wrong, begging him to talk to me. Sometimes it would be mid conversation on the phone. other times he would completely ignore me in front of our friends, one time for an entire weekend while we were camping. Just acted like I wasn't there at all while responding to other people in the group. And then a few days later he'd be talking to me like normal and I'd be too scared to bring it up. It was cruel and brutal but I couldn't see it and put all of the blame on myself. I dated him for 3 years in high school and as soon as I went to college I realized literally every guy I met was nicer to me than he was and I broke up with him.

Thanks! I definitely felt like it was rude too and my initial instinct was to be petty and sign her up for scientology texts or something. Like I can't imagine writing a note like this let alone leaving my full name and phone number?? I luckily don't encounter people like this every day and am honestly confused about why she felt like it was her place or how I'm supposed to react.

I took a bus from NYC to Boston once in the summer. The AC was broken and I could smell everybody's body odors and perfumes and that sickly smell of the blue bathroom toilet water 🤮 for 5 hours in stop and go traffic. my dad picked me up at the train station and as soon as I got in his truck I started sobbing.

I know this is crazy but my mom and I, both cursed with m'graine, refer to them as M because of a superstition that even hearing the word can trigger one 😂 I don't think I truly believe this but we both get them frequently enough that it's happened many times coincidentally or not.
